    why does oil 'disappear'?

Haven't had an oil leak or a tell tale oil leak spot in about 2 years (that was a leaky rear engine seal). Haven't had an oil leak since before the test started.

    why does oil 'disappear'?

This test is going to enter its third year, which for the results seems abnormally long I am sure. I have only run the test in the late spring-early fall seasons to help minimize things like oil loss from cold starts (I should redo my valve stems because in the cold they contract, I get a little...

    why does oil 'disappear'?

I actually want to retest the Purolator (going to be a while, the original retest got messed up due to an airfilter issue), there were no discernable observations to be made between the PureOne and the Purolator. When I looked at my notes I only got 3.9 qts with the Purolator but it was colder...

    why does oil 'disappear'?

The problem is the unexplainable corrolation between how the oil appears out of the engien and how much comes out. It doesn't bother me that much, with almost all of the other filters I don't have nearly the loss and its the same type of driving. Whats curious is that you trust the dipstick, I...

    why does oil 'disappear'?

I might as well chime in since its my test thats being discussed. Here is the testing procedure its not all that scientific, I preface my test as a subjective oil filter test. *Every 2,700-2800 miles (first chance after 2,700 miles) *The warming up of the car mainly with idling but some...

    Revotec filters

Thats a nice reply but does nothing at all with regards to the revotech filters. Of course its an inversly proportional relationship, thats clear to anyone that thinks long and hard about it. I just wanted to knwo if anyone had any experience with them, if they did flow more, if they filtered...

    TeamGreen Filters

Personally I am very confident in their filters. I like their design, and whatever they use different in that oil seems to be a bit more effective then k&n (or atleast my filter get a lot dirtier then the k&n did). Anyone with more experience have some thoguhts on the subject? It is worth...

    Revotec filters

I am sure a lot of you have seen these metal mesh filters. Personally I am very skeptical of their claims of filtering better then k&n and flowing better then TeamGreen. The only clear advantage I can see them having is their ease of cleaning. Thoughts, feedback, anything....

    A few questions about Valvoline VR1 20w50

So where do you all stand on Amsoil, Mobil 1 and the maligned Quaker State oils? I also plan on running vr1 all summer, 20w50, I rallyX, see 100+ days fairly often and hit the limiter a couple times a week. [ February 19, 2004, 10:29 PM: Message edited by: Kevin Hahn ]
