I buy my oil in bulk, so I will assume they are the same. Only difference between between oil changes is the first one had a lot of idling. The 2nd had a lot of highway.

Gentlemen, As promised I have attached the 2nd oil analysis as we discussed in the previous post. I see that the numbers look a lot better than the first analysis. Your thoughts?

Exactly. Its a common issue with the fuel gauges. Some refer to it as the humming bird gauge.

I use a combination of Fluid Film and Cosmoline Rp-342. every fall all body plugs get pulled and fluid film goes in. Hit the inside of the rocker panels heavy. Fluid film flows better but to me remains sticky to long. The rest of the undercarriage gets black RP-342. This covers better, remains...

Thank you guys for all your input. From the suggestions and recommendations I will perform another OA with the current maxlife in the truck. I will switch to a different oil for the next oil change. I might try the Rotella as recommended.

Thank you for your help. I went back with the Maxlife HM 5W-30 blend and the fram TG filter. It’s the same setup I have been using for 4 years now. the truck did not use any oil at all.

Is this something that can be corrected with a different motor oil?

Ok. I don’t use the truck much as the mileage shows. 1/2 of the 3143 miles was highway driving. a-lot of idling too.

To be honest I never did an oil analysis before. I figured in about another year I will do another one to see what changes.

Guys I just got my oil analysis back. It says all is good. what am I looking for in these numbers? Oil was in the truck approximately one year. The truck has 161,000 miles on it.
