    Recommend remanufactured engine sources?

Slack - thank you. Son bought this car for $450 because it wasn't running. In VGC (body & interior), the owner just didn't want to deal with it. Depending on the reman cost, I think it may make sense.

    Recommend remanufactured engine sources?

GM & Capt - Thank you both. Also found out the VIN# determines whether the water pump is driven by the intake or the exhaust cam, which a Ford dealer can confirm.

Our son needs a 3L V6 remanufactured engine for his 2006 Ford Escape (water pump driven by cam). Any recommendations? Thank you in advance!

    Mazda immobilizer light

e, Astro, bd - thank you all for your interest. I think I discovered the problem - the battery in the keyfob. Used the other keyfob, first with the existing battery. None of the above worked. Put in a new (2025) battery - everything works as it's supposed to. Always look for the simplest...

    Mazda immobilizer light

e, thank you for your interest & prompt response. The first thing I did was replace the keyfob battery. I still had to open the door with the key and the immobilizer light on the dash continued flashing. Also tried the spare keyfob with new battery - immobilizer light still flashing. Also...

    Mazda immobilizer light

2016 Mazda 3 2.5 Touring immobilizer light has come on. Googled & Mazda forum for different steps to override it but none successful - new battery in key fob, charged car battery, held door lock in open position 30 seconds, etc etc. Able to drive it by pressing key fob against starter button...

Oil level on dipstick after a couple of days?

Sorry for what may be an obvious answer - I thought I overfilled my oil because the dipstick was wet above the MAX level. The car sat for a couple of days and I just went and checked the dipstick and the oil level is exactly where it should be. Since the engine has not been run is this an...

How far over the MAX oil fill mark...

...creates a problem? 2009 Jetta 2.5 engine. Just overfilled the oil - it is past the MAX mark and appears wet at the top section of the dipstick (Jetta owners know the section) and can't tell if it's any higher than that. Time for an oil extraction device? Thank you in advance!

    Best de-greaser for car body?

Gentlemen - thank you for your interest and replies. I ordered a quart of the 99% from a Walmart distributor for about $10:with free shipping. Pricey, but it was the least expensive I could find for the volume.

    Best de-greaser for car body?

Getting ready to apply extra EPDM adhesive weatherstripping around car doors to hopefully reduce wind noise. Instructions say to clean area before applying, but doesn’t say what to use. Was thinking of either acetone or isopropyl alcohol. Any thoughts as to which would be better? Thank you in...

'09 VW Jetta 2.5 5 speed manual transmission noise

930 - frankly I was a little disappointed with the lack of response when I posted my original Q on Vortex. Found that to be a good resource since I bought the Jetta 6 years ago. Got the best answers from GTI, who also explained the sticker locations to confirm the MQ250 designation. And found a...

'09 VW Jetta 2.5 5 speed manual transmission noise

930 - description of oil is my mistake - mechanic said there were metal shavings in the oil & I assumed it was a differential oil (this has been an educational experience). And no pics. Situation becoming more interesting. Called several transmission repair shops only to be told they don't work...
