Generally whatever non-FRAM filter is on sale at the parts store. Last few changes have been Purolator Pure One filters, but there are some Wix filters in there, some AC Delco filters...

Changing oils causes lead to increase?

No. As I said, some of these changes are with 5W30.

The 4.10s are standard on the 2500-3500 trucks. It's 4WD, so changing both front and rear R+Ps would be expensive and time consuming. 75MPH is about 2700RPM. It's a naturally aspirated gas engine, it has to turn some RPM to make power.

Thank you for the comments. Towing I average 11.2-11.4MPG staying around 75MPH. I've done a couple long highway slogs with no trailer and have seen as high as 13MPG. It's on its original transmission, which is a 4L80E. Pretty bulletproof transmission. Nothing special done to that, just fluid...

The last five oil analysis from my 2500HD Silverado. Engine is the LQ4 iron-block gas 6.0L V8. This truck is used almost exclusively for towing a racecar around the country, so lots of long highway slogs with a ~ 6,000lb load. It's a four speed auto with 4.11 gears, and it definitely turns some...

    Amsoil 5W40 Euro, 8300 miles, 09 Mazdaspeed3

It's been more than four years, but I thought I'd follow up with this one. We still own this car and it's approaching 170,000 miles. Reliability has been excellent - it has really required very little work. The A/C compressor went out at 160,000 but other than that, just minor things like the...

Well, it gets a lot of freeway miles. She puts 24-26k on it a year. But it has an intake on it, and she likes the boost.

I probably am waiting too long between changes - I guess it was never an issue with our old Jetta 1.8T (ran 10,000 mile Amsoil intervals on that car and every report was pristine). I have enough Amsoil for another change so I'll go 6k on this one, do another fill and see what the results are. I...

    Amsoil 5W40 Euro, 8300 miles, 09 Mazdaspeed3

Guys - this engine has produced a lot of iron since new, but the lead coming up is a new phenomenon. Thoughts? This is my wife's daily driver. Mixed city / highway driving, but no particularly hard use. You can see where I switched from 5W30 Amsoil to 5W40 Amsoil. I did this because the engine...

Interesting. The coppers haven't seen much gap growth over the 30k interval - just some slight rounding of the electrodes. This is the girlfriend's car and when she comes in saying her gas mileage has gone from 32MPG on a tank to 30MPG I know it's time to change the plugs. That ends up working...
