My problem was with the port injectors getting gummed up & making noise, through normal use at around 30K miles. Haven't had the problem since I started using Gummout/ChevronTechron before oil changes.

Even better the EPA is tossing California's custom blended gasoline, meaning a likely significant price drop. That alone will lower the cost of goods here. Also throwing out California's future ban on diesel semi's. That would have caused quite a supply chain shortage and a lot higher prices...

I like it. In California it's pretty much a scam, smog checks, extra fees, etc. I'd guess 99% of vehicles manufactured in the last 10-15 years would pass.

Stay away from leaf spring bypass valve oil filters. Even if you have a good one now, it's unlikely it'll stay that way over time with subsequent filters.

I'd pass on leaf spring bypass valve oil filters. We've seen some poor manufacturing & quality control, and that may make its way through all manufacturers & models over time.

True but synthetic blends are mostly conventional oil. For an ECO Boost I'd use synthetic, and its usually not much more expensive,.

Hard to believe this topic is still going strong, or that any type of oil filter leak has no affect on filtering efficiency. Which is basically what we have here.

Seems to me if it did then hand pressure would close the gaps. That doesn't appear to happen. The gap is the same whether sitting on top or or being compressed with hand pressure.

That bypass valve "leaf spring" is more of a bracket than spring and does little more than fill space in the dome end of the filter. Keeping the media in place, but does not coil or apply similar pressure of a coil spring. It's a crappy bypass valve design that I would try to avoid using. I...

With the Motorcraft bypass valve near the input wouldn't any glue remain in the filter on the outside of the media? Assuming there isn't excess glue seen during an interior inspection before installation?

That's the same price I got mine on Amazon for. Looking at the filters after receiving them, they look fine. I will open one up my next OCI for a cut & paste. Thanks
