I’m so confused by the original post… is there a question? 🤣

    My Own Redline SI-1 Test

You bring up a great point and I totally agree. Like I said, this is not a highly scientific test. The good news is that those last 2578 miles included some summer miles, as I hardly drove the truck during the winter. According to my Carfax log, on September 24 of last year, I was at 102,484...

    My Own Redline SI-1 Test

Redline SI-1 seems to be a forum favorite and there’s a lot of evidence out there that it works as advertised. I’ve never used it before in any vehicle, so I decided to pick up a couple bottles and perform a test of my own. I’m strictly going to be testing whether or not fuel economy is...

Has there ever been a mainstream vehicle that holds its value as well as a 5th Gen 4Runner?

I can think of a few relatively mainstream vehicles that hold resale extremely well- Honda S2000s Jeep Wranglers 2007 and older Diesel 3/4 ton trucks Cadillac CTS-Vs (on the edge of not being mainstream but I wouldn’t consider them an exotic), basically every generation.

    Kyle Busch passed away

I saw the news yesterday almost as soon as it broke. Still can’t believe he’s gone. I’m a big NASCAR fan, I watch weekly and go to at least one race every year. I wasn’t really a Rowdy fan early on in his career, but I grew to really like him and began to root for him after he moved to RCR. He...

Will Your Car Survive an EMP?

The only solution is to drive a a Dodge with a 12 valve Cummins.

    Bought a Cheap Accord

Since I fixed the interior door handle, I decided I should fix the exterior door handle too. If you go back to post 270 on page 14, you’ll see I mentioned it was partially broken, and I’ve just been dealing with it since. I ordered a Dorman one and it was a complete piece of junk. It was made...

Just part of owning an older car, all stuff to be expected.

    Are All Rotors the Same?

Replaced those brakes on my sisters car. Probably could’ve reused the pads but I didn’t. These new rotors are fully coated Bosch units and Akebono pads. I’m convinced this was caused by a defect/quality issue, rather than environmental factors or abuse.

    Post your latest oil change

Doesn’t burn any, and I sleep better at night! I change the oil whenever it gets to 50% on the OLM. Sometimes it’s 1500 miles, sometimes it’s 4000 miles. I don’t think I’ve ever gone more than 5k though.

    Scotty Kilmers' P0420 method

I’ve had very good luck with Cataclean. I’d try that first.

I need an oil pan drain please

Been using one of these all my life. Have yet to find one I like better. I think they are long discontinued unfortunately. When I have to drain something that is gonna splash and make a big mess, I use those shallow concrete mixing tubs from the hardware store. Otherwise, I use this guy.

    Are All Rotors the Same?

I know those rotor screws technically don’t need to be put back in. I still put them on just because it makes getting the caliper and pads on a bit easier. I load them up with anti seize. For ones that don’t come out easily, I just hit them with the sharp punch on my air hammer and it spins them...

    Bought a Cheap Accord

Glad you’ve enjoyed the updates! New axle feels fine, as does the steering, no major issues to report. The interior driver’s door handle broke the other day, so I ordered a new one from AutoZone online. Unfortunately I ordered the wrong color… So I got my die grinder and ground the end of the...
