In The Market For Hearing Aids

This is very true. Costco has the best prices on batteries if you do need them but the new rechargeable ni-cd is a lot less trouble. I just drop mine in the charger/storage box every night when I go to bed.

In The Market For Hearing Aids

Costco hearing aids are very good. They have 3 or 4 different sets/prices to pick from. I had a set of their Phonak Brio aids that lasted about 5 years. Costco also has the best prices on hearing aid batteries. They do a decent test first to check your level of hearing loss then they can tune...

What are you listening to right now?

I should edit here, I made a mistake, the first video is not from an R30 concert. It is from the prior Time Machine tour. I think that was in 2010 or 2011. My apologies. For anyone interested in percussion and or concert production these are great videos.

Good aftermarket speakers - 6.5 inch using factory headunit?

I remember Audia. We carried it at a car audio store I worked at in Hixson, TN around 1985/86. We did not sell much of it. It was very expensive and the head units were difficult to use while driving. It was also kind of all or nothing, couldn't really mix with any other brands or components...

What are you listening to right now?

This is from 2010, The Time Machine Tour. 24KT rose gold hardware, thumb screws, huge wing nuts, ratcheting box wrenches and dial calipers used in the setup...This is a quick video of Neil Peart's drum crew setting up his kit at one of the R30 concerts. The beginning is set to a live version of...

Good aftermarket speakers - 6.5 inch using factory headunit?

Use speakers with the highest efficiency/sensitivity rating you can find. Most good aftermarket 6 1/2's will be around 94db, give or take. You need a more efficient speaker to use as much of the available power from the OE radio as possible to get the best sound out of them. Also be sure the...

Warranty issues from lost oil receipts

Someone else here with a better understanding of the innards of a Hyundai engine will have to answer that one. As I understand it though sludge happens when you go too long and too many miles without changing the oil. The dealer can check for sludge or other evidence of lack of maintenance once...

Warranty issues from lost oil receipts

It's a long shot but if OP bought oil and filters at O'Reilly or Auto Zone or Advance, and if OP has the rewards card at any of those stores and if OP showed his card each time he bought oil and filters, then the store manager just might be able to pull up his purchase history and print that out...

    What about these louvers?

I wouldn't run it. If you can see those few closed off, there are probably other closed louvers in that center tube that you can't see. I much prefer holes over louvers myself.

    Dakota fuel pump

An easy way to help tell if it is the regulator is to turn the key to run but don't start the engine. Wait 15 or 20 seconds and if it starts right up it is a good indication the regulator is bad. Another test is if the fuel pressure gauge drops below 30 psi within 5 minutes or less after...

What are you listening to right now?

The first Bad English album was very good. I still listen to it sometimes, even if it is pop-oriented. John Waite did a great job on it, so did Neal Schon. Deen is one of those drummers you can tell it's him without seeing the band playing live. The second Bad English album, Backlash was...

Looking for first person story: My warranty denied because of oil used

I saw it happen first hand more often than I care to remember when I worked for an extended warranty company. "Use of improper fluids" is usually what they call it and they use it as an excuse to weasel out of otherwise legitimate claims. If you are still under factory bumper to bumper warranty...

Got my second Shingles vaccine shot...

I got my first Shingrix vaccine in June, other than a sore arm I was ok. I got the second shot this past Thursday, had the same arm pain at the injection site but nothing else until the next day. Friday morning I woke up feeling like I had the flu. I was very tired, had muscle and joint pain, a...

    Such A Good Mother

They got the nickname banana spider from being found in boxes of bananas shipped from South America to the U.S. some years ago. I guess they still show up in a banana box sometimes now but it may not be as often as before.

    Such A Good Mother

Wolf spider. One of my favorites. Pardosa Amentata or Pardosa Milvina. Beautiful names for a spider. Genus Lycosidae. The word Lycos means "Wolf" in Greek. The wolf spider is the only one in the world that carries her spiderlings on her back like that. Not all of the babies will survive to...
