I would think it will be just fine. It will warm up quickly and be at the 40 weight most of the time. That's a much more modernized engine vs the old ones that always called for straight 30.
Best thing you can do for that is talk to someone like Justin at Black bear performance tuning to turn off that stupid cylinder deactivation and to clean up the transmission shifts. Will last forever
This is 4,000 miles on my 7.3. Is fuel dilution a problem here? Viscosity is low but this thing shears oil. Boron and potassium is left over from archoil
I checked the oil on my '01 7.3 and it was a tad bit overfull. I haven't checked it for awhile but don't remember it being that full. I heard Blackstone doesn't give the most accurate fuel readings. Who shall I go with to get the oil sampled? Thanks
Looking at the old CI oil I use, the Zinc and Phosphorus levels were around 1600/1400. And calcium was around 3500. Now the CK oil is 1000/900 and calcium around 2000. Delo and Delvac even lower. So my question is, how is this better? I understand new equipment might have different engine...
I agree. I didn't post it to get shamed. I posted it for people to see ck-4 results. I'm going to do what I want no matter what. Hope everyone else enjoys the share
Well I'm not interested in extended oil changes. Interested in the using the best stuff. Engine oil is extremely cheap compared to trying to find a truck as reliable as this one. My brother used archoil in his 6.0 and had great results. I said what the heck I might as well try it. I saw positive...
