Maxlife makes our 03 Matrix shift buttery smooth. The extraction method, through the dipstick hole works great with these cars.

The long anti slip wrench sets were a great deal last year, & I sometimes find deals in the closeout bin. Otherwise Ebay has had some great deals on Carlyle/ NAPA tools.

With my 07 Sienna, we just drain & fill a 3 quarts through the dipstick hole. Doing this twice, a hundred miles apart, extends the transmission life significantly.

I am now using rubber drain plug gaskets for all cars. No leaks.

Please elaborate. Is this a problem with is N51 BMW engines?
