Quality Control - Domestic vs Japan

Silicon Valley has a similar work culture. And those with the pride in their work go the farthest around here. Hardball is not for everyone....

Quality Control - Domestic vs Japan

The pride in whatever the Japanese do was one of the standouts from our recent trip to Tokya and Kyoto. Discipline.

Anyone else turn everything off when you stop the car?

No, I just get out and walk away. Don't shifft into whatever. No turning off anything; there is no engine, it does whatever it does. My old timer cars confuse me. Too much nonsense to remember. Just gotta remember to take my phone. It barks at me if I don't.

EV and Hybrid - CAR - Front ends. Ugly.

I love Toyotas, but the recent grille designs? I just don't get it.

BMW EV China sales; not good

It's the biggest market in the world. And automotive engineering, for both traditional and EV technology. BMW's failure is a blow. They need the Neue Klasse release.

What are you working on today?

My friend Art, owner of New Life Tree Company, called with a dead brush chipper. His crew was working 25 miles south in San Martin-Gilroy area. Ton of brush on the ground with a no start chipper... He told me a couple of guys tried fixing it when his back was turned. Oops. So he brings it over...

    Tesla Full Self Driving (FSD)

Well, driver error is the critical cause of approximately 94% of all vehicle accidents. Recognition Errors (~41%): Primarily distracted driving. Have another one, bud... Decision Errors (~33%): Poor choices, primarily speeding. Performance Errors (~11%): Losing control of the vehicle...

Why do people strongly opine about topics they know nothing about?

The SEMI C-Level execs depend on your word and your execution. It's OK to be wrong as long as you are being honest and keep them in the loop. Q: "How are you gonna do that?" I used to tell them, "That's my problem and I will let you know if I get in trouble." "OK; this meeting is over." And so...

Hopefully pics do not do that filthy expensive car justice. But I'd drive it, just the same.

Vehicle Sighting - 1970 Chev El Camino

Respectfully I don't agree. Great for low end. I ripped all that stuff outta my old Vette and went back to points.

Why do people strongly opine about topics they know nothing about?

In my career, I HAD to say, "I don't know." if I didn't know, because I was held to what I said. Seriously held... And rewarded for results. It was OK to say it but I followed it with, "but I can find out." It is far better to say, "I don't know." than to be caught lying.

Gotta love those quarterly checks... Of course the taxman takes his cut, so there's that. What's a poor boy to do?

    Tesla Full Self Driving (FSD)

Glad to see so many somehow know all the facts. But here's Tesla's instruction on AP use: The driver remains in control and legally responsible. The haters love the clickbait articles...
