Two things: The 2019 engines are have slightly different internals--specifically a variable oil pump along with a few other changes. The Clubsport/Golf R engines do not have the "new" oil pump and do not require the thinner oil. The second item, not all 508 oils are dyed green.

The VW 2.5 is a robust engine. Any modern oil will work in it. It does not have the valvetrain wear issues other VW engines had! VW just specs 502 for all their gas engines in the USA.

I have a 2015 Jetta with the 1.8tsi. I changed the oil and filter at 2500 miles, 10K and 20k--all with Belgian Castrol(5-40W.) My oil report was just fine, in fact Blackstone recommended trying 12k oil changes.

Just an FYI, in Honda circles it is well-know that Honda engines prefer a "thinner" oil as opposed to a thick oil. The VTEC solenoid and secondary cam lobe changeover are the culprits along with getting an adequate oil supply to cam towers #4 and #5 at very high RPM.
