    2012 Honda Accord V6 M1 0w20 5,000 miles

Mr. Newton is adept in critical thinking and should be acknowledged, if not applauded, for his efforts to point out the lack of it in others. It's hard to argue with any of his points. We should remember that Bitog (and many other sites, for that matter) is intended primarily to be informational...

Oil for low mile Saturn 1.9 DOHC--thick or thin?

OK--I know about the propensity for these engines to consume/burn oil. Just got a low mile (less than 70K), one owner '02 SC2 for one of my kids. Does not use much oil at this point, but I am wanting to know opinions of those who have experience maintaining one of these. Do these engines like...

    Idemitsu 0W-20 GF-5 meets API SM / ILSAC GF-5

Probably only CATERHAM knows for sure. But if it's SM, I would buy it and a bunch more. It's really good stuff. The SN is different and who knows if it is 'better' or not. There's always the argument that SN has made some additive numbers come down, but we really don't know for sure if the SM...

    million mile accord

My current issue of Motor Trend has an article in it about a guy from Maine who put a million miles on an early 90s Accord. And the motor was original/never opened---! Wrap your head around that. The guy's (an ex honda mechanic) intent was to show that consistent good maintenance can make a...

    Rubber plug conditioner suggestions

I have a Mazda sourced M5ODR2 manual trans in an older Ford F-150 and it has a typical leak from the rubber plugs that go hard and shrink/crack over time. The plugs are on the top of the transmission. I have the replacement plugs, but I won't be able to get to the repair for a while, so I am...

Worst or most problematic car you've owned?

1995 VW Jetta. Bought it new. Was in the shop at the dealers off and on for about 4 months total out of the first 24 months of ownership. Then the warranty was up. That was the warranty time in those days for VWs. I even had problems with the loaner '95 Jetta they gave me to drive. I haven't...

    Redux: 0w-20 - Toyota vs Mobil1

Anyway, it's certainly nice to have another cost effective ultra high VI 0W-20 alternative the great TGMO. 'Cost effective' is a moving target. I pay $8.75 a Qt. for the Mazda 0-20 at the dealership. I know that's low for the peoples' republic of Canada, but it's high for here. The Toyota 0-20...

Lucas may have 'fixed' stuck fuel sending unit

Follow up to this thread. Continuing to use Lucas fuel treatment in every tank at about 5 oz per tank--which is about 14.5(+-)gallons. Fuel guage seems to be working and accurate. Now if I could just fix the oil leak--!
