Well I let it sit for about 3 months, and took it to the shop ealier this week.
Total rebuild. Converter came apart and put junk in the trans. All wear components were well, worn.. haha.
Total cost $2250 .
My auto trans went out on my '01 Civic at 225k miles. It's never been in the shop before that. But I did the other stuff; timing belts, water pump, basic stuff.
But you can find a long list of owners who's trans went out way under what I got, and very few that have gone over.

They'll take it, and then dump it down the drain, :) .
I have, and know of others who have had good luck with Lucas transmission stop slip product.
To me, it's worth a try, the trans is going out, if this can get you a few more miles out of it, why not.

Thanks. I have that engine in my Vibe.
I've heard that they can be hard on oil since they have a timing chain. That doesn't appear to be the case here.

Don't that have auto trans issues?
I'd like to have that 1.4 turbo, manual tras. But I keep my cars forever, and I'd be concerned about the durability of that engine.
Would it go 300k miles, on the original turbo?

Did you feel any difference in shifting after the maintenance?
No problem. I really couldn't tell any difference in shifting.
I just jacked the front up, and put it on jackstands.
The filter comes with a gasket already in place, and is attached by 3 bolts. It also comes with pan gasket.
My pan is really easy to get to, nothing is in the way, so I used a 1/4" drive cordless impact to remove the 10mm bolts. The whole...
My Vibe just turned 144k miles, so I thought I'd change the trans filter. The pan has a drain plug, so I've been doing drain and fills every 20k miles or so. Using a combo of T-IV and Amsoil ATF.
The filter is just a fine wire mesh, and it did have a few specs in it. The pan has 2 magnets...
