My main concern with Magnatec is cold weather performance. Being in Iowa, we can get some extremely cold winter days and from what I read Magnatec may gel up a bit more than other oils.

I haven't heard of LSPI being an issue on these engines either, but I figured if using the proper oil eliminates the possibility I would go that route. Yeah I typically don't doubt Amsoil's products and I know they are generally very high quality. I guess I'm just naturally a little leery of using a fluid that on paper is a compromise for both of the existing products. I'm sure Amsoil does their research and testing, but couldn't the same thing...
