AN 05 GMC diesel with 6.6 Duramax. However I didn't go with Amsoil this time. I went with Shell Rottella 3 ( yellow can) I figure the UOA cost almost the same as 10qts. of Shell oil. I will see how long the computer tells me to run the oil then decide if Amsoil series 3000 is worth it anymore...
I know the impact would be huge. Half the oil gets dumped into the water system. I don't know why we don't go 5k minimum , 7 k avr. and maybe even 20k synthetic with filter changes.

ON the uoa diesel section I just posted a uoa for Amsoil HDD 5w30 with 13.5k on the oil. The thread is 46k on Amsoil 5w30 oil. I have been keeping track on the thread for over 100k mi. now for anyone that cares to see, especially the O.P.
A buck a qt. more will get you Amsoil HDD 5w30 . Not that I care but 15 w was hard on my little tractor in the winter. The 5w30 made it turn over much better. The 15w was not synthetic however.
Original poster here. I got my uoa back. It has 13,500 mi. on oil. 188k on the motor still does not burn much oil, about 1qt. in 6-7k.

O.P. here again. I have 164k on my truck now and just changed the oil again. It had 39k when the test went in. The UOA said everything was fine except it had an oxidation of 58. It was high but not critical.

I had a K&N in my Durmax. I had a dirty MAf sensor too. I asked what makes it dirty? My mech said most of the time there is a problem there is also a K&N filter in it. No problems since. Coincidence ? maybe.
