    Tula Ammo aka Tulammo

I have never used hornady ammo but I have had my share of cheapo russian steel cased-coated 223/5.56 and I can tell you that it did not take long to cause my AR's to fail (fail to eject). I never had any problem before and never again after I stopped using that ammo. Just my observation with my...

    Mini 14 question

I wouldnt use a mini14 for anything beyond 100yards, period. Its a reliable enough rifle but after owning (2) of them, I would say they are only kinda accurate at short range and only as long as you dont heat it up.

    American-made and Cheap? Charter Arms....

If I just had to bet my life on a cheap "new" revolver it would be a Taurus 85. If I had to bet my life on a cheap "used" revolver it would be a Smith Model 10 or 66 Police turn ins.

    Tula Ammo aka Tulammo

Quote: I'd have thought the polymer coating mitigated that? Nope, thats the stuff that may likely get gummed up in the chamber. The AR is a fine rifle but its not going to take kindly to steel cased ammo, dirty powder and some strange case coating.

    Redline engine oil for guns

and just how will the add pack in motor oil react when it comes into contact with firearm cleaning solvents? Its just not what it was made for.. Will it work well enough? who knows. Its just doesnt cost much money to use gun specific lubes, I have had the same bottle for years. To me its just...

How long do you keep Personal Defense Ammo?

With me its not a question about it going bang, its about bullet set-back.

what are you using for personal defense ammo?

I use Federal HP rounds in my revolvers and everything else is Federal or Speer FMJ's

    CCW one in the chamber

I cant imagine ever carrying a semi auto handgun that is not chambered. I wonder what the inlaws would say about carrying a 1911 cocked and locked.

    CCW for the wife?

I dont think I have ever made a decision "for my wife" that ever turned out to be the right on (in her mind).

If you couldn't afford a Colt Python

I have never owned a python but I have owned troopers and cobras. In my mind the colts are more refined as far as fit, finish and overall craftmanship. I can certainly understand why someone would want one over a Smith or Ruger. That being said, if you cant afford a python then I would suggest a...

    Gun range ear protection

As far a hearing protection goes, I like the pro-ear33. I double up with some canal plugs as well.

    Gun range ear protection

Quote: That's what sound suppressors are for Even the best supressors only reduce db levels by what? 30-36db. Using regular ammo you still would be dealing with 120db gunshot.

Home Defense Caliber, 9mm vs .45 POLL

I have never used a semi auto as as house gun. I doubt I ever will. Carry? yes but House gun? Nope.

Where to buy an AK-47 and Mini Draco

I see no good reason to worry about finding a milled receiver over a stamped one. I mean come on, who has ever wore out a stamped AK? The milled receivers are heavier and no better as far as function. In my opinion, kit guns are junk (at least the ones I have seen). When I say kit, I am...
