Here is Germanys experience,buried in the 7 pages is their findings on solar "life span of 30 - 40 years" which means they are at 50% output in 15 - 20 years ,about what I have found.
Also it takes at least 6 years before they make up the energy that is used in their production.

don't forget solar panels are not forever,on my boat they have noticably degraded after 10 years .
So into the payback you have to figure in replacement . Same with wind, the blade roots fatigue and you need to make enough to pay for them as well as the initial investment
Early emissions caused stalling after start before fully warm,ice cold not a problem but as warming up ,chokes mostly on too long or off too soon or sticking open.

Thats absurd, the EPA is the place to take your beef.
However some manufacturers are very talented when it comes to matching the EPA 'test cycle' ,but they get the good numbers for their window sticker.
