    I haven't tried to wipe off the light gray coating but I can do this tomorrow morning.

    Yes, I read the info from that link but how come the (10) filters that I have are all missing the "Honeywell" logo? I do have (10) of them but cannot open one of them because I am in the process of returning all (10) of them back to the seller. I opened up a dispute on eBay.com
