Lubrication Engineers - PSD 6.0 Experience?

I recently hit 281k w/5840 hours on my 2006 F350. I've been running synthetics since the truck hit 20k miles. As the original owner I chose to use 7500 mile intervals with OEM filters. I started using a by-pass filter early in life. I'm still running the original injectors with no real stiction...

    Mobil 1 delvac le 5w30

Finding a local Mobil distributor in OK wasn't too hard. Went to another dealer but they didn't carry the 5w30 yet. They seemed to think they would get it but haven't see it on their order lists.

    Mobil Delvac™ Elite 10W-30

I was able to source the Elite 10w30 from a oil distributor. I got two cases for the "long term" test. I have already changed the oil out with the 10w30. It's doing great so far. I'll see what happens for the next 15k driving. If I wasn't able to get the Elite I was going to the JD 50. Good...

    Mobil Delvac™ Elite 10W-30

I'm quite happy with the ECT/EOT delta split. It's running just fine with the coolant filter and by-pass filter doing their part. I did see the Delo XLE on their site. I just need to keep an eye out for it locally. dnewton3 most of your posts are what convinced me to give it a try.

    Mobil Delvac™ Elite 10W-30

I know you all have heard of it or used it. I'm going to give it a go in my 2006 F350 6.0 w/276k on the motor. I switched over to 5w40 synthetics long ago after hitting 20k on the truck. I still run the original injectors to this day. I've been reading plenty here and elsewhere about 10w30 oils...

Chevron Delo 400 LE Synthetic 5W40

Can I say I'm impressed?? I swear I'm gaining MPGs...mildly albeit maybe 1mpg. I need to do some better MPG calculations. Going to try it again on my next change. I like it!! BTW 2006 F350 6.0 with 219k and the original injectors.

    OIl life in the pan???

Okay it's been asked around the boards I visit. Given just the simple question without all the variables. IF someone were using synthetic oil and NOT driving the truck often. Could you leave the oil in the truck for 2+ years? Say the truck is driven under 7k miles during that 2 year time frame.

    Mobil 1 0-40w in a 2006 Ford 6.0L????

The TDT has been a long time favorite of mine but sometimes hard to find. VEB and T6 are proven performers for me as well. Guess I'll keep it simple: Good filters, a good by-pass filter, routine changes @ 7500. DONE!! I still get TONS of good info from the board. Wish I had a grasp on the...

    Mobil 1 0-40w in a 2006 Ford 6.0L????

Been reading a few posts. I take from the posts I could use M-1 40w in my diesel yet it doesn't have the API rating called for by Ford. I have a 2006 6.0 that runs like a dream. I have been considering using 10w30 as well. Any information to clear up the API rating of M-1 40w versus Ford specs...

    5w-40 max operating temperatures

I agree PCM will de-fuel at 253* and since I use an oil rated ABOVE that threshold I should be very well protected against engine damage. I don't want to run the truck at a steady temp since Murphy is always around to offer help. I feel your 235* is safe, smart and well within the design...

    5w-40 max operating temperatures

I know of and COMPLETELY understand the EGR/OIL cooler issues. My question is about oil temperature ratings. I did read about the PCM shutting down the motor but wasn't sure of the temp cutoff. Thanks guys for all the info!!
