    2010 Buick Lucerne

I was (basically) given a retired '97 camaro police package from a dealer friend. Specialized in resorting GM law enforcement vehicles. He agreed to let me use the shop/lift to change all the fluids and service items. It was 7 years old, had 100k on it, less than 500 hours, and the coolant was...

I'd be insanely pissed. That's the only part of a flush that actually requires skill. The most important part. (Other than using the appropriate coolant) Some vehicles are more tolerant than others, but I've known someone that destroyed his engine from improper bleeding (older BMW). Sorry...

    Rodent damage.

The mice in my house ate, ate the peppermint oil soaked cotton balls. And the areas/drawers I used the spray on received fresh piles of ****.

Pretty sure the "oil shop" gave him the advice to wait, which is why he asked? If that is the case, I'm absolutely blown away that the place didn't try to sell him a $500 emergency platinum level top tier coolant flush service. My mom would have fell victim.

Personally, I think that the age of the coolant takes precedent over mileage. I would change it, yes. Use the same spec'd coolant. I would not chemical flush, I'd drain and refill with fresh coolant 2-3 times depending on what came out.

    Rotor failure

That is the worst rotor rust I have ever seen, and the only structural damage too. I'm in the rust belt, one of the higher salted locations. Even on winter beaters with 10+ years on rotors, zero structural concerns from rust. The only way that occurred is a materials issue.

    Coolant shelf life

Leaving them in direct sunlight does something though... Idiot neighbor left 3 unopened bottles outside the barn door for a full northeast year, in the sunlight. When I used them finally the coolant was clear and cloudy (concentrate zerex g05). He didn't care, therefore I didn't. 2 years...

I'm asking myself why people would still want to buy them...

    Gas Can Conversion w/pic

Doesn't matter in NY with my company anyway. I have a detached garage with an old car in it I use from time to time. Same difference really.

    Gas Can Conversion w/pic

I hope this is a sarcastic comment, or do you actually worry about that issue in Indiana? Jesus I live in NY and I see people, landscapers filling cans every day..

I need to replace motor mounts

My guesstimate of the dealers quote + their diagnostic fee is around $2800.

    Hybrids?

Battery fails yes, Motor no. This is the case on my stepfathers car.

I need to replace motor mounts

Doing a little snooping online, it seems that the mounts last an average of 60k-100k miles, with the most common failure being the torque strut mount. Start there..
