Buying Parts Through the Repair Shop

I've seen people indicate that the part's manufacturer (or whoever puts their name on the box) reimburses shops for their labor. Is that true ? For the shop's sake, I hope the process is made really simple and hassle-free 'cause a lot of shops don't have time to play games chasing their...

British Grande Prix Sunday, July 3. 10:00 AM E.T.

I was rooting for Sainz to beat Max last race and will be rooting for him tomorrow. I still like Max and Lewis and so on but it gets hold seeing the same driver dominate race after race.

    Is this mpg right?

By almost 25% above even the best user-claimed MPG or 40% above EPA estimates? Others (who know the route) have suggested the OP's trip was downhill and to wait to see what happens on the return trip.

Mazda dealer refused to change transmission fluid

As you say, Mazda doesn't distinguish driving conditions (at least for that car model). It's not like you can tell this one dealer "see, I do that, so you should change it". Go to an independent shop to get this done (or DIY). It has a drain plug and dipstick so fluid changes are absolutely...

    Is this mpg right?

Can't explain why it's not right, but I would confidently say it's not right. According to fueleconomy.gov, the highest highway MPG for any '17 Sentra is 37 mpg (some owners claim up to 42).

Now that you two say that, yeah, it did seem like the local Autozone had a plain, white small pickup around at times.

How hard to turn should a new water pump be?

I think that says all that anyone needs to know. Return it.

...and a vehicle, insurance for it, fuel, and they still will likely sit around without much work all day.

Mazda dealer refused to change transmission fluid

It's not necessary to remove both terminal connections. One or the other accomplishes the same thing. Touching the cables together, pressing the brake pedal (only has to be enough to trigger the brake light switch), turning on headlights, etc will drain any "stored" energy in capacitors (in...

Buying Parts Through the Repair Shop

Who says they don't have the money ? It's no different than net 30 (or 5 or 15 or 60) payment terms or putting it on a company credit card that gets paid off monthly. For a lot of small to mid-size shops, I doubt they have a full-time bookkeeper so this is one less thing the workers or owner has...

Buying Parts Through the Repair Shop

There's some Euro specialty shops around here and I think they give too much info on their website at times. The owner's bio talk about how he spends his spare time working on his Porsche and traveling the country racing it or the service advisor (or technician or office manager) enjoy restoring...

Why are all Facebook Messanger inquires from people with no history?

Where's that rule written down at ? If you despise FB or FB Marketplace so much, don't use it. Period. If you continue to use it, you're a hypocrite or just whining.

What I mean is, and maybe it varies by areas, those shops didn't used to have recognizable delivery vehicles. Today they do.
