Pennzoil Synthetic Platinum LV Multi-Vehicle ATF

this is obviously Pennzoil's answer to Valvoline Maxlife synthetic multi-vehicle ATF. I'm sure it's fine. the Valvoline variant is really good in GM transmissions as well as Ford transmissions

Lucas P/S fluid -- any good?

yea I wouldn't use Lucas anything lol. it's just going to be lower quality like Prestone PS fluid....used to be 100% perfect years ago but pretty sure they have used synthetic since like 2005 so stick with dexron VI, it's synthetic and what should be in there now.

So I bought Beck/Arnley filter for my Honda

doesn't look bad for 4 bucks....filter media appears to be synthetic...decent components...I'd use em.

    Fram PH3980 Cut Open

meh I guess they are alright....I don't mind spending the extra money on one with better components though. I have used the cheapie Frams before on my truck with no problem.

Ford changes oil grade recommendations for 2016

the merits of 5w20 are there, I'm sure it helps fuel economy, and there are plenty of engines with tight enough tolerances that running anything heavier is pointless....but for performance applications I do not think it is sufficient when compared to a Xw30/40. I have heard plenty of...

When do you change your air filter?

when it gets dirty and I can no longer see the sun through it after I beat it out on the side of the house. seriously, this works fine so long as you are careful not to damage it. also if the clean side of the filter ever stops looking bleach-white, it gets trashed.

    Fram and Wix Air Filters

Both look good. I've used Fram, Wix, STP, OEMs, all kinds of non-reusable air filters. Most of them seem to do the job just fine. I kinda think Fram and Wix are the best when it comes to this. I am also not a fan of washable/oiled air filters at all. I think it has been proven plenty that they...

I still think Mobil 1 HM is the best

usage maybe 0.5 qt every 6000 miles with valv maxlife and M1 EP in the past. I don't run it past that. maybe not even that much gets consumed. And I think most of that is from the oil pan gasket.

I still think Mobil 1 HM is the best

Yeah I thought about the SM rating for awhile. But it isn't exactly an improvement over SL. I don't really go by the OLM anyway.....it'll run any dexos oil for 10,000miles or more. SL or SM shouldn't matter, except maybe to my cat converter. Oh well....

what do you think of this Lucas product?

I know I wouldn't run Lucas anything in an engine unless it was knocking. I don't even think their fuel injector cleaner is worth its weight in sand. But that's just me. I'd be surprised if it were really BMW LL. That used to only be Castrol and M1. Heck it might be fine but I think I'd stick...

I still think Mobil 1 HM is the best

Yeah honestly I don't think there is anything wrong with ANY oil that you can get at say, walmart, so long as you use right weight/don't deplete its TBN/don't clog the filter. I like Motorcraft oil too...seems to be good stuff. I used Pennzoil's cheapest stuff to top off my truck plenty of...
