I called as well to confirm spec sheets are accurate. Was told spec sheets are up to date and accurate. This was about a year ago before they stopped providing efficiency numbers because we caught them false advertising.

It was the same filter as the Fram Endurance. Both were made by Champ Labs which is now bankrupt. PGI bought them both(Champ Labs/Fram) so time will tell if production resumes or PG relabels their current filters. An even better choice is the PG Ultimate/Carquest EP.

Just stick with only Valvoline Restore and Protect for the suggested 4 oci’s minimum(I would run indefinitely). If oil consumption doesn’t improve then you can try more invasive methods. My gut says if Restore and Protect doesn’t work nothing will.

Microgard Select 57055 is a taller filter with the correct Subaru bypass.

I run Amsoil 0W-30 in my Jeep that I offroad.

PCV is always the first thing to try on a Subaru. When Subaru’s start using oil it’s sudden and accelerates fast. Sometimes when switching oils it will started burning and taper off.

I have ESP 0W-30 in 4 Subaru’s currently. All quiet as a church mouse with almost zero oil consumption over 5k oci’s. Also staying in grade over the whole oci. Subaru’s do not do good on cheap oil in my experience. Always out of grade and the dreaded piston deposits. Another great option is...

Doesn’t help that some versions have/had little pictures of motorcycles, semi’s, tractors, cars, and trucks right on the bottle. Heck maybe even a chainsaw🤣

LSJR has a vid comparing different Mobil 1 flavors all meeting the same spec. Even within the same brand some oils just meet spec and others far exceeded spec. All depends on your particular engine and driving conditions IMO. Plenty of conventional SQ and GF7 oils available if it works for you….
