On my Jeep I lube the heck out of the o-rings. Always paranoid about exactly what happened to you. Good choice with the Carquest Premium!

Very good point. IMO Valvoline isn’t known for great base oils only great additives. I chose not to use Restore and Protect in my new 26 Turbo Tacoma. My gut says when the Valvoline Restore and Protect lab test vid drops we will see it shears and oxidizes quickly. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Truck and SUV was tested against the whole api Mobil 1 lineup and came out on top for resistance to thermal breakdown(PDSC). EP would be better for long drains and Truck and SUV would be better for severe service.
