That's what I was thinking. It may have been just a hair (literally) over, but I wouldn't expect to see this. The motor takes exactly 2 qts with filter change. Kind of hard to mess it up (though I've seen stranger things).

Some feedback. The day after I put synthetic in the motor, it started smoking while running. This is a vertical twin. It "is" normal for this motor to puff every now and then while starting, but this was constant. It scared the crap out of me. sigh... I ran the synthetic for only 15 minutes...

Bror, It can be real dusty here so I try and change it every 25-30 hours. I end up putting about 100 hours per year since I use it 12 months a year, with snow blowing. Pardon my ignorance, but who or what is Too Slick? -greenhobby

Well, I decided to take the plunge and put Mobil 1 synthetic 10w30 in the John Deere. The reason is that I want to get the easy cold starting/cranking properties of the synthetic oil for this next season. -greenhobby
