    '03 Honda Civic 50/50 Mix M1 0w20 / RL 5w20 OUCH

pscholte, I'm printing out your wonderful poem and framing it in my garage! You 'da man! Autozone has indulged me with GC Gold in it's stores in my area. Maybe I should change my name to GoldElixer They haven't carried the green elixer for more than a year... I used to check a couple...

    '03 Honda Civic 50/50 Mix M1 0w20 / RL 5w20 OUCH

Terry, Will do on the email. Thanks for the input so far. Geoff, I mix oil for several reasons. At first, I was a sceptic when it came to 20 weight oils. Never heard or saw it on the shelves until I bought my '03 Civic and noticed the manual recommended a 5w20. Same time, I found and got...

    '03 Honda Civic 50/50 Mix M1 0w20 / RL 5w20 OUCH

Terry, I did utilize your analysis on the previous OCI. I thought it very valuable. That's part of the reason I changed from the M1 to the M1 / Redline mix. I should have signed up for your analysis with this one, as well. Forgot about checking the box on the form at Blackstone. Would still...

    GC in a Honda 4cyl?

Buster, I've tried the GC mix w/ M1 0w20 and it still holds my MPG record of 47 mpg in my '03 Civic EX (conducted at "Grandpa" speed of 58 mph, however). I used 1 qt of GC and 3 qts of M1 0w20. I believe my UOA at 5,800 miles should still be on the UOA page...it was boringly impressive. Maybe...

    Micro Poly Filled Bearings

Kestas, Actually, it's oil, not grease... I should have corrected myself when I wrote my post. Question back at you... When I looked on the Phymet website, I couldn't find any information that remotely links it to the Slick 50 grease formulation that you mention. What info do you have that shows...

    Micro Poly Filled Bearings

Not sure how many folks out there have ever heard of a Micro Poly Filled bearing... but if anyone uses a sealed bearing for any "at-home" use or more specifically at their place of business or at work...you might find this interesting. I've worked in a food/beverage manufacturing environment...

    Dealership BS

Buster, Did you challenge him on that assertion? I would have. I would have asked him specifically what chemical reaction such a switch would have on the engine that it would EAT at the engine. Make him play "oil Chemistry 101" with you!

M1 users convince me to change!

PeavFen, I wouldn't dare try and convince you to use anything in that new awesome truck of yours. I am a M1 user and I can sleep very well at night without worry...and I've even convinced myself that I'm not crazy, as VeeDub has suggested, that I can use M1 and go to 15k OCI's even while under...

    My New Car

Buster, Congrats and Welcome to the Honda family. I'll throw in my suggestion and take it with grain of salt. My '03 Civic has so far performed best (mpg & engine smoothness) w/ 3 Qts M1 0w20 and 1 Qt of Amsoil S2k 0w30. It currently has 2 Qts of M1 0w20 & 2 Qts 5w20 RL and is going well, but...

    02 WRX Synergyn 6840 miles

SO, My comments would suggest that the wear metal levels per 1k miles indicate that the Amsoil is the clear winner in your engine. Aluminum, Iron, Copper, Lead, and Tin all lower with more miles on the oil w/ Amsoil. TBN and Flashpoint both held up much better too. On the other hand, the...
