I use it at work between machine tool vises/fixtures and the milling machine bed surface. I've tried so called rust inhibitors but they setup some sort of chemical reaction and when I remove a vise it's always green or brown underneath. When I spray a light film of WD underneath 9 times out of...
Okay I looked it up in the acronyms, MC is not there so I'm guessing that MC means Motorcraft oil. I was in Wally World tonight and noticed that 5W-20 Motorcraft Synthetic Blend is cheaper than reg. Havoline. It's like $2.07/quart. What's up with that, maybe they just haven't gone up yet. I'm...
I think they must have missed the fact that they could go up over the years. I paid like the same price for Dino Oil for about 15-25 years with very little variance. You could pick up Havoline for $1-1.25 a quart almost 20 years until recently. Which is basically all I've ran for nearly 25 years.
Bill I'm curious I have a '91 and an '04 Explorer. Both filters are straight up on the side of the engine. I use a 9" Ext. with a cap style filter wrench on the ext. Both of mine are pretty simple. The worst I've ever seen was my wife's former '99 Expedition with the 4.6L V8.
I could have swore I had already asked but here it goes. My '06 Scion engine has a 1NZ-FE and the TSB says NZ-Series. Does that mean my engine falls into this TSB? I know it seems obvious that it does but I need reassurance before the next oil change. Thanks.
Actually that's about the response I figured I'd get out of them. I haven't put gas in it yet. I've got close to 600 miles on it already, it only holds 11.9 but from what I've read about the most you can get in it is 10. They filled it up twice at the dealer because their computer system crashed...
Well I took it in today, I was off work yesterday no need in driving 40 miles just to take it in it's only about 8 miles from where I work, and they said the color looked fine, texture felt fine and the smell was typical of the factory oil from Japan. So I guess I'll take their word for it but I...
I never really thought about that it sounds very possible, some gas getting by the rings. I think I'll call the service manager at the dealer and see what he says. It's a very large and reputable dealer.
From what I understood they had only had it a few days and it was inspected this August. It had 5 miles on it when I test drove it. I've already put almost 400 miles on it since Friday. I can't keep my wife out of it.
I just picked up a new Scion xA this past weekend and decided to check the oil just now and my wife and I seem to think it smells like a combination of oil, gas and diesel, almost like paint thinner. I guess the thing that has me worried just as much is that it's about 1/4" over the full mark...
