castrol magnatec syn blend vs full syn

Some mentioned here that it is labeled as full synthetic now just to be able to meet the new Dexos requirements. Essentially the same stuff, just labeled differently for legal purposes.

Wanna see your Grandfather's Buick from the 50's?

I find it beautiful. In fact - I would daily drive it. In the summer.

    Suprotek Oil

The additive itself is some stellar stuff. In USA it's sold under the name Suprotec or Atomium. But the owner probably just stole its name to fake a receipt. Because Suprotec does not make oil, only additives.

    Suprotek Oil

Was the owner Russian by any chance?... Because there is an oil additive that is commonly known and used by many in Russia, it is called Suprotec. And the owner is probably just B/Sing you. Change the oil if you end up buying the car. Anything synthetic from Wal-Mart will do the job better than...

Thin or thick (TGMO 0W-20/M1 0W-40): Final verdict

I am with the OP. I used Magnatec 0w20 and got 2ppm of iron in 4k miles. Then I used Amalie EURO 5w40 and got 17ppm of iron in 4k miles. Y'all can cry all you want about variables and uncontrolled environment, but these are real life results and you can't just ignore them because it was not done...

Differences between Castrol Edge and Magnatec

Mobil 1 vs Mobil 1 EP for short drain

For some odd reason in my previous experiences the regular M1 was getting dark a lot quicker than M1EP over the 5k oci. Do not know if that means that it cleans better over the short period, or if the additives just react the temperatures a lot quicker in terms of oil color. Between the two I...

Differences between Castrol Edge and Magnatec

More noises, more resistance during accelerations (probably viscosity related, even though both were 0w20), and worse fuel economy.

Differences between Castrol Edge and Magnatec

Thanks for posting that info, first time seeing it. But now I am in more confusion... How is the higher level oil perform worse in my engine than their mid-tier oil? Idk if that thought will let me fall asleep tonight...

Differences between Castrol Edge and Magnatec

Magnatec is advertised to have "clinging molecules", which is probably some form of esters. Edge does not advertise to have those molecules, but it pushes its "titanium" additive. I have tried Magnatec 0w20 and Edge 0w20 in the same engine. Going simply by cold weather performance, smoothness...

who makes supertech (wal mart) wipers

What are the best wipers that are available from walmart? I got the most expensive stuff they had (rainX something...) And 4 months later I hear occasional squeek and start seeing streaks. What is the best value stuff there? In terms of how long it lasts versus how much it costs.

Recommend an oil: Pup UOA head to head competition

15k miles on conventional SuperTech 5w30. Back in 2013 though. Definitely would like to see your results on the current SuperTech Synthetic. Magnatec is great too, but there are no doubts that it will perform great. Now when it comes to SuperTech Synthetic - it would be interesting to see how it...
