    2002 dodge dakota p0305 code - misfire

Up to this point, I have replaced the spark plugs, coils, and one injector. After doing so, the problem was still present. I purchased a OBD module, which is pretty cool, and found that not only was cylinder 5 misfiring, but there was a pending code for cylinder 1 and another for a random...

    2002 dodge dakota p0305 code - misfire

Thank you for your reply. Since my post a few weeks ago, I just got the same error code again on the same cylinder. Replacing the spark plugs, coil packs, and that particular injector has not corrected the problem. I'll check the battery, and possibly look into replacing the computer. I see I...

    2002 dodge dakota p0305 code - misfire

If this doesn't work, I'll get a fuel pressure gauge. The parts store I went to didn't have one for loan, and the gauge was twice as much as the injector. The old injector had a rubber or plastic insert in the injector cavity, but the new one didn't. The new one seems to work Ok, but is that...

    2002 dodge dakota p0305 code - misfire

I replaced the injector for cylinder 5, and removed the code. This morning the pickup started up with no issues, but I'll have to see how things go over the next several days. I did notice that there is a slight tick that I can only hear when the hood is open, so I'll monitor that as well. As...

    2002 dodge dakota p0305 code - misfire

Thank you for all the great advice. I'll start with the suggestions here, and update here as I progress. This problem doesn't happen every time it is cold nor does it throw a code when it does start rough. I didn't notice a rhythmic pattern to the rough idle, and it is pretty rough as it shakes...

    2002 dodge dakota p0305 code - misfire

I forgot to mention it has a 4.7L engine. I do have a small coolant leak, but that is a radiator issue with a very small external leak. I haven't had a UOA done recently, but I don't see any other evidence that this is a head gasket leak.

    2002 dodge dakota p0305 code - misfire

My 2002 dodge dakota 4x4 has 168k miles on it, and recently it runs rough for ~30 seconds after a cold start. This problem has gotten progressively worse, and issued a p0305 code last night after it ran very rough right after it was started. The code means that there is a misfire on cylinder 5...

Im sorry, mistyped the sodium value. It should be 8. Is there a way to edit it?

That is my point exactly. I do an analysis once in a while to verify the change interval seems appropriate. From the numbers, one year seems appropriate. There are three reasons I like changing the oil once a year instead of 2 or more times. First, I don't like changing oil. Second, I like my...

The pickup is driven approximately 12k per year, so the oil is changed once per year. Driving is 65/35 hi/city with a lot of construction material hauling this past year and a little towing. No oil was added over this period. Note that there are gaps over this entire history as I don't do an...

I agree that the silicon number looked out of place. I replace the air filter when I change the oil, so the air filter was in use for less than 7731 miles. I use Fram air filters. OK, I believe I did change the plugs during this oil analysis period, which I had forgotten about until Benjamming...

This was our first use of RLI Biosyn after switching from M1. Driving was similar to pervious posts with 70/30 highway/city where this included the second half of winter. Fuel came down some, but would of course like to see it lower. Our next UOA will have less idling in the car pool line. 2004...

If there is a coolant leak, it is very small. The sample showed 50 PPM meaning that 0.005 percent (not 0.05 percent as Blackstone indicated) of the sampled liquid was oil. Assuming the coolant was well mixed into the oil (maybe a bad assumption), and the car hold 4 quarts of oil with some other...

It seems as though M1 is unjustly getting blamed here. Sixty-six ppm is high, but I certainly don't think that can be attributed to M1. There is apparently something else going on here. I do agree that M1's iron is generally a little high, but its lead is generally very low. It has been my...
