going to start detailing my own car

You seem satisfied with a wash/ clay/ wax... so, going off of this I will give you one idea for the best path forward... HF D/A- perfectly fine with what you are going to do... no need for the Griots unless you get it for around $100. Backing plate is can be viewed as a problem but mostly...

    Meg's Ultimate vs Collinite 845/476s?

Meguiar's Ultimate Wax (Liquid or Paste) will last every bit as long as 845 and look better doing it. That is on a properly prepared paint surface. 476 will last longer than either Meg's Ultimate or 845.

Painted my car, any advice on cut and buff?

As has already been said, you want to deal with the texture and orange peel issues sooner rather than later because, over time, the paint becomes harder and cures. How many coats of clear did you use? 3- 4 coats would give you a good margin if beginning with 800 or 1,000 grit, anything...

    Detailed - 2015 Toyota Avalon w/CQuartz TiO2

Zeuss- 2 coats are not required but recommended for overall product build and protection... one coat could suffice but it probably wouldn't live up to the 24 months as is typical with 2 coats.

    Best "quick wax"?

Stick with Meg's UWQ... if anything buy it in a gallon (D156.) I use it professionally and nothing on the market is going to be as user friendly, look great, and protect as well. It's not a leader in any of the aforementioned categories, professionally, but it excels at all of them versus OTC...

    Meguiar's Ultimate Wax - Report

In my area, we have experienced 18" of rain over the past 45 days... 3 days of rain is nothing. Meg's ULW has been on my wife's car since November. Still going strong. I used D156 once.. wash with Meg's Hyper Wash. Again, something is wrong in the process if you are only getting 60 days out of...

    Meguiar's Ultimate Wax - Report

I will echo Nuke. Properly prepped, Meg's UW or ULW should last a solid 4 months with just washing with a proper car soap. Using D156 or Ultimate Wash n Wax soap, this sealant should make 5+ months easily. Meg's Ultimate Wax, in either paste or liquid, is the best OTC sealant on the market...

    Mothers Synthetic Wax

Mother's Synthetic Wax is a cleaner wax (however the protection part is actually synthetic- a sealant.) It has conditioner's (oils/ carrier solvents) and very, very, very mild abrasive package along with chemical cleaners. So, it will very well "hide" defects rather than remove them (not...

What are your favorite detailing products?

Shampoo- CarPro Reset/ Meg's Hyper Wash (Reset is an awesome shampoo... just not cost effective for non-coating type details) Decon/Clay- CG clay, all grades (Not a huge fan of Nanoskin type products...although I do use them). Body Solvent- Tar removal/ Tree Sap removal (I like Tarminator but...
