    No Engine Oil Dipstick

My 2009 Porsche Cayman is the same way. It's annoying. It only works if the engine is warmed up. So you change the oil, guess as to how much you should put in (by now I sorta know,) then have to run it for 10 minutes before the oil change level function works.

    Post your latest E0 purchase

The regular place I hit is up to $5.34 a gallon for E0 90......I may have to do some recon to check prices at other local stations that offer it.

Cars you had that were supposed to be junk but turned out great for you

I had an '80 (maybe '81) Chevette that got me back and forth from Cleveland to Pittsburgh while I was going to college in 1990. A/C still worked and everything.

'07 Tundra, no known trans fluid changes at 144k

Son just bought a very nice '07 Tundra 4.7 2wd that spent its life in Florida. Looks like the previous owner took very good care of it, as it came with a folder full of maintenance receipts. However, I don't see any evidence that the auto trans fluid has ever been changed. I'm tempted to do a...

Honda engine doesn’t seem to run right

Watch a few YouTube videos on cleaning small engine carbs. They're all very similar. Probably a tiny jet hole is clogged. Take your time, keep track of what went where, and you'll be fine.

How to remove dealer add ons "protection packages"

I paid that much for my '17 ES350 with the same mileage a year ago. 😳

Last time/how often do you open your hood?

Every time I wash the car, to wipe down under the hood edges and give the engine cover a wipe down. My wife's SRX likes to consume oil, so I'll check the dipstick when I do hers.

Volvo dealer cautions against ATF change. Ever.

I've also heard from many people that flushing ATF is bad somehow. I suspect that transmissions that fail right after a fluid flush already had problems festering.

Servicing '13 Cadillac SRX AWD Haldex unit

Hello all. I had a heck of a time finding the proper filter kit and fluid for my wife's '13 Cadillac SRX AWD rear axle clutch. It's a Haldex unit, and GM acts like these are non-serviceable. It's an easy job once you're under the car. I had a little issue of one of the bolts recessed in the...

    Generator Maintenance

I do mine monthly. I hook up two 1,500 watt heaters to give it a load. Clears out the cobwebs, warms up the oil, and keeps the battery charged.
