Anyone here who says using a HM oil is a load of crock or waste of money has no clue what they are talking about. I tried multiple synthetic oils in my 2000 Camry. Mobil 1, Castrol Syntec, Penzoil Platinum. My car smoked more with those than regular dino oil. But even on Dino oil, my car smoked...

Thanks guys. I will push it to 1 year changes then regardless of mileage. That should be very close to either 5k-6k miles.

Anyone?

6 months is 1700 miles. 1 year would be close to 3k. Should I go 1 year?

Here is the BlackStone Labs report I finally got back. Let me know what you guys think! The Camry has 225k on it and 16 years old.

I switched to a HM oil because my Valve seals were worn after 225k miles on my 2000 Camry. It smoked at start up a little. By switching, it stopped the smoke by a lot. Now it may happen once a month. I have been using Castrol GTX HM 5w30.

I only drive about 2-3k miles every 6 months. I use GTX High Mileage 5w30. Should I still change it at 6 months or can I go longer safely? My car is a 2000 Toyota Camry LE with the 5SFE 2.2L. Known for sludge issues. But mine doesn't have sludge at all. I have 225k miles on the car now.
