In the past I’ve had pretty severe fuel dilution in my wife’s rav:

I switched a heavier oil to offset fuel dilution and extend to a more normal interval. I used Valvoline Restore and Protect...
This shows both my used oil analysis:

Thanks for the reply, sounds like we have similar consumption.
Awesome, would love to see the results.
For my particular truck I’ve never tried but I just saw one with almost identical wear metals at almost exactly the same mileage using Pennzoil Euro L, a C3 oil.
You’re probably right. As for 0w-20, I’m just concerned about my warranty.
How have you liked your EcoDiesel? How many miles? Any Issues? I had a Ram before, after living with both, I prefer Ram over GM. Oh well.
Not trying to blow up BITOG but every vehicle I have used oil analysis on calling...
Here’s another UOA of my 3.0 Duramax. I like this lab but every single sample I’ve sent them has transcription errors. 7 qt sump and unit time should be 28,584 miles. Doesn’t really get short tripped so not exactly sure why I get the fuel dilution but it doesn’t appear to be hurting anything. I...
That’s not exactly my concern. A dealership has given me a hard time in the past about my oil changes (different vehicle) when the issue at hand was related to fuel injectors, they wanted to disregard the warranty altogether until I proved the engine was maintained. Can argue all day long about...
I was also a little surprised to see it above 8. I too have read 7.9 cst on their website I believe. Check out this VOA though:

That’s probably what I’ll do. I actually emailed GM Dexos: they said if Dexos D is unavailable, an ACEA C3 or C5 can be used in the mean time. Couldn’t get them to specify if it would or would not void my warranty (despite my best efforts).
Should have mentioned that in the post. The rate appears to be about a quart every 5,500-6,000 miles. Does not really change based on my driving. With my normal OCI I could get away without adding any.
When they give me an updated sheet once they know what the oil is it won’t be flagged red. As stated by several others, ester responsible for the oxidation value.
Planning on doing another UOA during the summer with a longer interval.
Thanks all
