ZF 8 speed fluid change questions.

Thanks. The truck is far from “severe” for its use. A pan drop sounds good for now.

ZF 8 speed fluid change questions.

ZF’s advice sounds good to me. Do they also recommend “spill and fill” to get the oil as pure as new?

ZF 8 speed fluid change questions.

Thanks. That does answer a lot of my questions. I wonder a bit about the temp range. One video gives 40-45c or 104-113F as the optimal fill level. I know 86-122 is from ZF but does it sound a bit wide?

ZF 8 speed fluid change questions.

Does sound like the reward is unlikely worth the risk. Would it be “worth” doing the whole pan/fluid change driving for a while then changing out just the fluid? It just seems “wrong” to leave all that old fluid in there. Or is the service more about changing the filter?

ZF 8 speed fluid change questions.

Hi I've read and watched lots about changing the transmission fluid in my 2014 Ram 1500 with the ZF 8 speed but I still have a couple of questions. Do I drain the fluid when its cool or when its between the 30-50C (86-122F)? One video...

Mitsubishi's Warranty Schedule - follow it? how to not Void it

You would think you would have to drop and fill fairly often as you leave so much behind. Silly design to be kind.

Mitsubishi's Warranty Schedule - follow it? how to not Void it

Do you just drop the oil and fill it back up or do you take off the pan to change the filter and clean the magnets? There is also the option of someone flushing the fluid. Hard to know what to do when. Thanks

Mitsubishi's Warranty Schedule - follow it? how to not Void it

Thanks. I just bought crazy expensive, $48 per liter gear oil, from the dealer to do the transfer case and differential. I will definitely keep all my receipts and will document well what I do and when. I hope it never needs work under warranty again - it is nice to have but also a PITA.

Mitsubishi's Warranty Schedule - follow it? how to not Void it

Hi My daughter's 2017 Lancer with 86,000Km just got a new CVT under warranty. There was some question as to whether it would be covered as the car is new to us and didn't have service records - was likely never changed. This now has me somewhat paranoid. It would be nice to keep the warranty...

Mitsubishi / Nissan problem CVT - did it change? Getting a "new" one. Dump it?

The dealer should be putting the NEW, not rebuilt, CVT in today. I assumed wrong - it will still have the balance of the factory warranty - plus the one year warranty for the part itself.

Mitsubishi / Nissan problem CVT - did it change? Getting a "new" one. Dump it?

Thanks - When the dealer told me the CVT would have a 1 year warranty I just assumed, never a good thing, that this meant that the factory warranty would no longer apply - I will definitely check on that.

Mitsubishi / Nissan problem CVT - did it change? Getting a "new" one. Dump it?

Having her drive it until the new winter tires I bought for it are worn out and then running away like hell from it sounds like a plan to me.

Mitsubishi / Nissan problem CVT - did it change? Getting a "new" one. Dump it?

I've tried multiple Lancer and Mitsubishi forms - not much for responses - nobody seems to really know.

Mitsubishi / Nissan problem CVT - did it change? Getting a "new" one. Dump it?

So the "new" tranny will be a remanufactured one? - that doesn't sound good to me. Did they every make them decently reliable or is it something to avoid like the plague? I read that some models of this CVT are better than others but I have no idea what she will be getting. And isn't it crap...

Mitsubishi / Nissan problem CVT - did it change? Getting a "new" one. Dump it?

Hi My daughter has a 2017 Lancer with 85,000 KM on it. The CVT went out on it. The dealer, after much delay, got the Ok to replace it under warranty. We weren't the first owner and it hadn't been serviced - at least no records. Thank god for the warranty as a new one, just the tranny, is $15,000...
