VOA John Deere Break In Plus 10W30

Moly and Boron are strange, break in oils should not have friction reducers. Calcium also reduces friction, magnesium is good for break in oil.

Best 10W60 for bearing wear protection?

at 40°C and at 100°C about double the viscosity of 10W-40. At 100 10W60 starts to be usable.

Best 10W60 for bearing wear protection?

oh really ? Prove me wrong about BMW S engines.

Best 10W60 for bearing wear protection?

Starting at 20°C is cold, anything under 60°C oil temperature is cold.

Best 10W60 for bearing wear protection?

What nonsense ? Check bearing clearances of those engines.

Best 10W60 for bearing wear protection?

This was 13 years ago: *The following is the only recommended and approved synthetic oil for BMW M (Motorsport) vehicles in the US market with gasoline engines, at the present time. BMW Long-life rating LL-01 Synthetic Oils for BMW M vehicles equipped with S54, S62, S65 or S85 engines Castrol...

Volvo D13 TC Midland Nova 5W-30 65k kms - used oil analysis

Odometer 194000 km, oil used only 35000 km because oil pan was dropped for warranty change of oil pump. This time I used Cat S.O.S because it was easier. Copper, aluminium and potassium are now down, so seems like it is finally broken in. I am not sure about the lab Cat is using because it...

Best 10W60 for bearing wear protection?

It is too thick, especially when cold. BMW bearing clearances call for 5W30 or 10W40 if very hot.

Best 10W60 for bearing wear protection?

Best 10W60 is no 10W60 , that oil is the reason for bearing failures. Use 5W30 and change often if these new engines have same fuel dilution problems as S54, thats why original 5W30 viscosity was changed to 10W60. But Shell is one of the best 10W60 , Castrol is crap.

Volvo D13 TC Midland Nova 5W-30 65k kms - used oil analysis

Seems like potassium can come from solder flux from oil cooler. So it seems like oil cooler can give false readings for a very long time.

Volvo D13 TC Midland Nova 5W-30 65k kms - used oil analysis

32 liters, long distance trucking around Europe. Potassium comes most likely from roadsalt or from sea, it spends some time on ro-ro ships open deck because of hazmat loads.

Volvo D13 TC Midland Nova 5W-30 65k kms - used oil analysis

Volvo says copper and aluminium is from oil cooler and maybe charge cooler of the quite new engine. Base number of used oil was 6.61

    Coconut oil, low HTHS

Coconut oil, reaction products with boric acid. Seems to be common in many 5W30 oils. But why is it not used in those VDS-5 oils that are GTL base ?
