Nissan and Toyota are issuing rationing

Me too. I'm 87 years old and I still do the changes in mine also.

    Thoughts on partial oil change?

I also have a fumoto valve on my two cars. For me this is very helpful. However since I'm 87 years and sometimes a bit slow the oil change takes me a bit longer than the time you can do it in.

    Oil change in parking lot

I've done several roadside oil changes in non crowded places when doing long trips. One time I just parked as far away on the parking lot as I could at a motel. I never left a mess, however.

At what mileage did you start adding a heavier weight oil to your vehicle(s)?

Me too. When I got home I changed the oil to a 5W-30 right away. I need my cars to have a long lifetime with me. At the present time I'm using only Mobil 1 0W-30 in both of my cars.

Gas has gone up 30+%, why hasn’t automotive Oil?

Prices can be a bit unstable now. When I ordered two more jugs of Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 yesterday the prices were available only after I put them into the cart.

Post your latest oil or filter purchase

Several or so weeks ago I purchased four more Mobil 1 0w-30 5 quart jugs, with what I had that gives me 3 years of changes in my two cars. Then several links posted here enlightened me on the continuing rise in costs, plus the likelihood of some oils becoming unavailable got my attention and I...

    2026 4Runner - Oil Recommendations

I use Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30 in my cars. I like the extra wear protection and the ESP 0W-30 has an HTHS of 3.5, so I feel really well with it.

CX-5 oil change today… forgot to buy crush washers…

I also use the Fumoto valves on my two cars. They work fine for me.

How big is your stash, hoarders?

I already had enough for another year for the two cars of mine. I did pickup four 5 QT of Mobil 1 0W-30 ESP that will take me out another two years. I did this to be prepared in case supplies might be difficult or impossible as time goes by.

Mixing Kirkland Full Synthetic 0W20 with Supertech Full Synthetic 0W20

On a new car that I purchased many years ago the instructions on oil usage was the following as closely recall "...select an oil and stick with it.." I see on BITOG that owners use many mixes and it seems no problems come up with that. I don't do any mixing but it seems like it would cause no...

At what mileage did you start adding a heavier weight oil to your vehicle(s)?

I drove my car home from the dealer and immediately drained it and put in a Mobil 5W-30 oil.

Two days ago I went to O'Reilly and picked up two 5qt. Mobil 1 ESP 0W30. Today I returned there to pickup two more ESP 0W-30s and they are sold out. So, I went over to Auto Zone and got 2 more 5Qt containers of the ESP 0W-30. I already had 5 containers of ACEA C-3 oils, for the 3.5 HT/HS that I...

How good of an oil is Toyota OEM?

I started taking care of my cars and those of other people since 1957. If my math is correct that comes out to about 69 years. It also says I'm an old guy. On my first car, which was 1954 Chevrolet and at first it got oil changes every 1,000 miles. Then, Kendal came out the the Two Thousand mile...

Gas has gone up 30+%, why hasn’t automotive Oil?

Current conditions prompted me to purchase my Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30 well ahead of the time I will need it. I went and got two 5 quart jugs of it yesterday. In the short term I'll be OK and I can monitor how things are going.

Specific condition for : OEM Honda 0W20 vs Mobil 1 ESP 0W30

I use Mobil 1 ESP in my '08 Honda Civic. I've used 0/5W-30 in it from the beginning and it works quite well. Mobil 1 0W-30 is my go to now in each of my cars and it will work just fine in yours. I like the extra protection of the HT/HS of 3.5. Your car will go on and on with it.
