I'm thinking about a RUF lift but first I need to fix all the little things. This was really for my teenage daughter since she liked it but after driving it she prefers something faster :(. I don't mind driving to work, better fuel economy then my diesel truck :).
Recently acquired an 86 Samurai with a 1.3L 4 cyl mileage unknown (probably around 100K), would like to do a gentle cleaning with via oil. The valve seals were pretty hard and brittle which caused it to smoke at startup. Changed the valve seals and it doesn't smoke but I've noticed it's using...
Good day everyone, I recently came into ownership of a 86 Suzuki Samurai. I believe the mileage on the engine is either 58K or 158K, not sure. Compression results are good with only one cylinder under the factory spec. I had to replace the valve seals and the upper end is pretty dirty, what's a...

The goal is to stock only one oil in my garage. I'm using Dexos because my daughter's Sonic calls out for it.
Looks like ST 5w-30 Dexos synthetic it is then, thanks for the input.
All vehicles except the Sonic are out of warranty.
2004 Ford F250 V10 - 5w-20
2002 Suzuki Aerio 2.0L - 5w-30
2010 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS 2.4L - 5w-20
2014 Chevy Sonic 1.8L - 5w-30
I'd like to only buy one grade of oil for my four vehicles, two take 5w-20 and two take 5w-30. Our newest vehicle uses 5w-30 Dexos oil (2014 Chevy Sonic), so would it be wise to switch to ST 5w-30 Dexos synthetic for all of them?
Currently none of my vehicles except the Sonic run synthetic oil...

Today I was able to diagnose my v10 in greater depth. I did discover the exhaust joint on the passenger side exhaust manifold to pipe was leaking. Loosened it up and then tightened, same issue.
Using a mechanics stethoscope I can hear the ticking on all the valve cover bolts on the passenger...
Well after calming down some I've come to the conclusion that nothing is wrong with my truck. Runs fine, oil is clean and to level, just a little valve train noise at idle. Not a big deal, this thing is a whole quieter then my previous diesel truck.
Did check the passenger side manifold this...
2v engine, I've checked injector noise with a scope and all of them have the same sound. Will physically check the drivers side exhaust manifold this weekend.
My post is incorrect the ticking is coming from the passenger side bank not the drivers side.
