Start with fresh 10W-30, watch the oil pressure after it's warmed up. I had a small oil pressure improvement at hot idle temperature by going to 10W-40 in an old Ford 302.
Sorry to see that you got damaged. Can you buy a standard residential style mailbox + post, and install at the proper height at the same location near the damaged rack?
Possibly the previous owner wanted a plug with a different heat range. Or just a mix-up in PNs at the last plug change. Glad you are seeing performance improvements!

Did the VVT solenoid screens get clogged up causing the issue?
Reason I asked is because the Equinox I service had an intake VVT solenoid screen get blocked after a delayed OCI. Short trip, low miles a year vehicle coming from dealership oil changes, switch by me to mobil-1.
VW recommends long drain intervals, and that is reflected in their oil requirements. Go 5K miles and get back to the Euro spec oil if there is a concern. Nothing to be concerned about.
I have to wonder about the future value of all these rare muscle cars that are fetching hugh dollars. Will future generations covet them like the current car guys do? Or will value in 20 years drop to a fraction of the current value you see now?
