    Remington Squeez-E

They save a patch or two, and that's all. Cut your own patches from old 100% cotton T-shirts, and just use a Jag. The only real use I found for them is with copper solvent. Copper solvent eats Jags, and a 6.5 Squeejee will push a patch well in a .30 cal bore.

Frozen door locks! Finding longterm solution

Used to have a couple hundred padlocks and cores to take care of, as part of the job. Somebody figured it went along with Armorers dutys, Our facilty was on the windward shore of Lake Mich., and Ice in, and on everything, with beach sand mixed in, was a 7 month grind. The old school treatment...

All thoughts for log splitter oil welcome

If I may. The pump on that splitter is a typical Barnes. They run just fine from around 10 degrees, to about 75F, on plain old multi vis Universal Tractor hydro, and without fuss or wear issues. Above 75, heating up the oil isn't a problem because splitting in the heat sucks anyhow, and...

PRI-D or plain old Power Service for the bulk tank

PRI-D or plain old Power Service for the bulk tank

It's that time again. Spring bulk tank fill time, and as usual, I'm conflicted. PRI-D seems to have a better lubricant for our older pre ULSD Diesel tractors, but as seen last winter, sucks for anti-Gel in the cold. Power service is awesome for an anti-Gel, and we have never had gel issues...

    AR tool kits

For AR tools, you need a vice block, extension wrench, Barrel nut wrench, a couple of punches for drifting roll pins, a front sight tool, and possibly an allen set for slipping the base zero on A2 rear sights. Not much else is needed. Head to Brownells for the top quality stuff. It's hard to...

    Sta-Bil Compatability with PRI-G

Thanks guys. I don't buy into the "Rehabilitation" claims either, but have had iffy results from Sta-Bil as a long term preservative in the past. The Local Marina and a couple other Farmers have had excellent results using PRI-G in thier bulk tanks for winter storage however, and am looking at...

    Sta-Bil Compatability with PRI-G

I filled the bulk tank with Rec-91 Non-ethanol last June, figuring to burn through 300 Gallons before Winter. A jug of the Red Sta-Bil was added as a stabilizer because that is what the distributor had. Long story short, we used less Petrol and more diesel this year on the farm, and now still...

    Loudest gun?

I spent a good bit of time as a USMC Gun Grape. Pulled the Lanyard on dozens of Red Bag RAP in the old M198, and during training got to play with old M110 10 inch SP. Loud is an understatement. The concussion of the Redbag RAP combo is as bad as incoming Mortars 50yds away LOL!! The absolute...

heartbeat effecting long range shooting.. tips ?

Work a little bit with your breathing and hold. There is a period of about 6 seconds where your blood is oxygen saturated and the hearbeat is unaffected. Hold half breath, not full or empty. Pressure on the diaphragm increases the effect of the heartbeat. You have to find your own sweet spot...

    Short Barrel Muzzle Flash?

On the flash. MOST top tier defensive loads these days incorporate a flash reduction component in the propellant. The specialty loadings for short barreled handguns use a faster burning propellant to increase velocity through more complete combustion and in the process reduce muzzle flash from...

    NH 134, NH134b,

Ian, Despite my ignorance for the last 40 some years, and using whatever hydro is on sale at the tractor shop, the worst that has happened is a few pumps going bad. Maybe I'm Lucky..dunno. Plain old Deere Hytrans is always a safe bet IMO, as is the manufacturers labeled stuff. Plan on bending...

    Buddy bearings

We run them on a couple of our trailers that are used for hauling tractors, produce and other heavier stuff. I still don't trust them, and inspect and repack every winter or early spring, but they work just fine for us so far. No inside bearing issues at all. I suppose if we ran some sort of...
