Thanks for your replies. I guess I won't change the gear lube again then.
@40w8. You comment seems a bit off topic but just fyi, I'm on recently rebuilt brake system all around with akebonos, but I'll double check the front brake assemblies to make sure that everything is in order.

Hi all,
I have some front end grinding that's going on between where my front differential is and the left wheel. Seems like grinding + some sticking (wheel bearings replaced not long ago, no change).
I change the differential oil about 2 y ago ( at a shop) and about 2 mo ago again (myself)...
Hi all,
I switched to Rotella T6 but have a rest of Castrol 0w40 Euro formula left. I'm filled up with T6, but can I top up the T6 from time to time with a bit of the 0w40 Castrol?
This is on a BMW e46 M54B30. I am on the central OR coast, so it just gets a bit below freezing a few days in the...
Okay, thanks guys. My specific question was more about the weight of the resulting mix. I read that LM oil saver makes the oil heavier. Would the result be too heavy?
Switch because Rotella T6 is highly recommended on e46fanatics and my OCI is coming up, and because it has more detergents than Castrol 0w40. T6 is 5w40. I want to add the LM oil saver cause I have a bunch of dripping oil leaks that I do not want to pay 1k+ for and don't want to do myself either...
Hi all, I want to switch from my current Castrol 0w40 to Rotella T6 since it has been shown to be so good in the M54B30 engine. At the same time I want to put in some Liqui Moly engine oil saver. Will this combo be too thick?
Cheers,
fanatic
Jeah, I'm not wanting the LM stuff anymore since they only talk about compatibility with ATF 2 and 3. Now thinking about going with Lubeguard red bottle.
Hi all,
The GM automatic transmission (390R) in my 2001 BMW e46 330xi doesn't have any metal shavings or such stuff. Did 2 drain and fills + filter in last 2 years. Shifts just seem a bit off. 250k miles.
Would you recommend adding some of this...
Hi all,
I'm doing an all around brake job in my e46 on the WE, w new brake hoses and a complete flush of the old fluid. I have two questions if you don't mind.
1) How much brake fluid should I have on hand for that? I don't think I ordered enough. I went with 2 L of the ATE DOT4 SL.6
2) Since...

Hi all,
First time poster here. About a year ago I did 2 drains and fills with supertech Dexron 6 (2001 BMW 330xi). Well, I had a mechanic do the fills cause I had messed sth up. No trans problems. I just want to make sure fluid is at the proper level. Not sure if the mechanic kept the engine...
