Liquimoly Motor Oil Saver initial treatment question

No problem at all letting it sit between drives, even for an extended period. It'll last as long as your oil change. Bear in mind, however, whether or not it will be effective depends entirely on the seal material. Motor Oil Saver contains esters and it works great with something like nitrile...

2000 Camry - Front and rear wheels bearings needed. SKF still good?

I cannot comment on other applications, but my experience with SKF wheel bearings has been iffy. The factory SKF-sourced, U.S. made bearings on my Grand Marquis lasted 17 years and 338,068 km (211,293 miles) and both were replaced in January 2019. Naturally, I opted to go with Motorcraft...

X to compete with YouTube for video watching consumers

Can't read the article without a subscription, but I'd say about time!! Way too much streaming media not to be integrated into a smart TV.

Need Guidance re (hopefully) Non-Synthetic Motor Oil for a '99 Camry L4 (5SFE) Sludge-Prone Engine

Back when I had my 5S-FE over a decade ago, I ran M1 0W-40. When the time came to do valve cover gaskets, the cylinder head was absolutely spotless. Personally, I'd change the PCV valve, skip the conventional and use either M1 FS 0W-40 or Amsoil SS 0W-40, which appears to have a good bit of...

    Michelin tires

I'm currently running the Pilot Sport 5, Primacy 4+ and Primacy XC All-Terrain in 3 different applications. Considering they're owned by Michelin, I guess I can list my BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 as well. I haven't had any problems with longevity and performance degradation; in an...

Do people in other countries have high milage cars?

Common in the Middle East, I've seen a few taxis that entered service brand new with over 1,000,000 kilometers (625,000 miles) on them still in service. Used to be a common sight with Caprice Classics and Crown Victorias back in the day, now it's mostly Camry's.

Amsoil signature 0w40 and japanese car in europe

Nothing to worry about. I don't recall the exact figures, but based on the last VOA I looked at, SS 0W-40 has <1,500 ppm calcium, <800 ppm magnesium and phosphorus and <900 ppm zinc.

    Dexos1 Gen3 vs MB229.5 5w30 only spec called for

MB Freigabe 229.5 is one of the toughest specifications to meet. Will that make a difference in your application? With a 10,000 km drain interval, perhaps not. But if it's readily available, and you don't mind paying the extra for it, or find it at an affordable price, it might be worthwhile in...

    BMW B58 Engine Oil Recommendation

This was certainly an eye-opening, interesting read. This particular engine in mild hybrids, such as the the X5 and X7, also calls for LL-22FE++ approved 0W-12 oil.

need some car wash soap recommendations?

In other parts of the world, Sonax calls it Gloss Shampoo but in a typical fashion, things are changed for the U.S. market and it's labeled Car Wash Shampoo. Very original; nonetheless, it's all I've been using for years and it does not disappoint.

Humanoid Robots Coming to BMW USA Factory

Going back to the original Terminator movie in 1984, Kyle Reese told Sarah Connor "not for about 40 years" when she said they can't make "things like that" yet. Well, it is 2024.

Thicker isn’t always better, but is it for rear differentials? Jumping from 75W85 to 75W110 in a Torsen LSD

I'm running nothing but 75W-140 in my Torsen T-2. Used to be Motorcraft, later switched to Amsoil. Then again, this is what the factory recommendation was for the open diff my car originally came with and I stuck with it.
