Had a set of PE2s on my old Passat. Loved them. Aren't these being phased out?

I got 20k out of them on my '97 Passat - not great, but not bad for the category.

The Exalto PE2 is a great summer tire. Comfortable, quiet, sticks like glue in the dry, and nearly as well in the wet. Compound is fairly soft (par for the course for a decent summer tire), but this really is a terrific tire. I ran a set on my '97 Passat and loved them. Good price.

I think the higher ZDDP levels in the M1 TDT (nominal Phosphorus levels reportedly 1100 ppm), along with the slightly higher viscosity helped quite a bit. This particular SAAB engine is very hard on oil, and usually shears it quite heavily. Another note, most of the miles accumulated by this car...

Made the change to Mobil 1 TDT about 20k (4 changes) ago. When using GC 0w/30 bearing wear was a bit higher than I'd like - not critical, but not great either. The 2.3L SAAB really does need a 40wt oil. With the SAAB being a sludge prone engine and very hard on oil, the M1 TDT seemed to be a...

The Voll Synthese (0/40, 5/40) are Group IV/V oils. Decent quality stuff. There are some UOA's kicking around.

Nice report. I don't think I'd push it much past 10k-11k ... TBN was at 2.8 with 9100.
