    I remember from A&P classes at Embry-Riddle back in the '80's, that old piston aircraft engines used to dilute the engine oil with fuel upon shutting down in extremely cold environments.

    My friends Father who lived 3 houses down the hill, changed water heaters for a living. He bought a new Chrysler New Yorker every year, and let his Wife drive it for the first year. Then he would use it for water heater replacement duty for the second year, trading it in after that, WITH NEVER...

    15W40 is way too thick, especially going into Winter in NJ. I would run a "0" w oil, or 5W30 as the thickest.
