It has been discussed here many times that Highland Warren is involved with the new Mobil 1 filters, not Premium Guard. While they may be made at the same overseas factory, different companies are involved post-production.

The Carquest Premium cross reference for the PG2500EX is 84502. I use those on 2 of my vehicles.

The biggest difference I see is the price. For the filter that fits both my car and truck, the CarQuest EP is $15.99 and the STP Max Performance is $11.99.

Don’t forget that Auto Zone carries the STP Max Performance oil filter that is a full synthetic, wire backed filter rated for 20K miles...

This is from a Chevron station on Florida’s space coast. This used to be an Exxon station with no name ethanol free gas. Glad to see it’s now ethanol free Chevron Supreme with Techron.
