I always was curious how long the folks in Europe keep theirs car. Based on my experience with the German car market, many people over there keep their cars from new for 4-5 years and get rid of them/trade in after 100k km(60 k miles) which is peanuts for the long term ownership. Then those cars...
My friend's highlander lost engine at 80K, after the coolant line burst on highway and he missed the moment. Seems like a not very uncommon thing of leaking coolant lines on 1st and 2nd gens
just not saying that Toyotas not reliable, saying that be careful with high mileage
Nope, I would not agree with that. The major issue is the internal water pump which requires a major engine job of the the front cover and timing removal just to replace the water pump
Seems like an eternal discussion about a lot longer OCIs in Europe vs a lot shorter in US.
When I visit friends/relatives or for work Germany/Belgium, mostly people walk to get groceries or for shopping, as everything essential close by. Here is the US, most people will drive even it is a...
I would be hesitant to use full-SAPS oil like that Castrol in that hot running DI engine unless you are fine with the valve media blasting once in 60K-100K
I did not see much of the proof of using full-SAPS oil in recent BMW engines and have clean valves after 100K
I would appreciate if anybody...
It has an industry advanced GTL base oil, which capable to protect and keep clean an engine for recommended OCI with no issues. Still my favorite oil, which I am running now in my cx9
Found another oil analysis from another lab, the report is very close to BS
if edyvw says it looks like LL12FE, maybe BMW just rebranded LL12FE as LL01FE, but who knows
Do I need to highlight in the VOA?
Your indirect message that VOA wont tell you about the oil performance and oil capability is a known fact, you don't need to be secretly sarcastic about it.
kschachn has said it probably a million times. Are you btw kschachn? As started being very "obvious"...
Incorrect thought, nothing to do with EU
Motul 0W30 LL01FE is a good choice who wants keep LL01FE but use more stout oil than the BMW counterpart, and it is full-SAPS
Also cheaper
"seem"... from where did you draw this conclusion? Did you see it in the VOA? Do you still think it is full SAPS?
Don't understand people here who see obvious things and still trying to pick up a fight... Just chill dude
