    2023 Subaru WRX (VB) - 6MT Transmission Factory Fill UOA - 11,657kms

Thanks for that. Motul was the big rally sponsor back in the day, I believe, and I know they make high quality products so I'll probably go that route myself. I may flip a coin to decide which Motul to use unless I learn something new.

    2023 Subaru WRX (VB) - 6MT Transmission Factory Fill UOA - 11,657kms

Thanks so much for elaborating! (y) Wow, $581 for a bucket of oil, LOL. I see what you mean. What do people think of this Subaru gear oil? https://www.maperformance.com/products/2015-subaru-wrx-75w90-high-performance-gear-oil-by-subaru-oem-sub-75w90

    2023 Subaru WRX (VB) - 6MT Transmission Factory Fill UOA - 11,657kms

Curious about a couple of things (I have the same car as the OP). 1. When you say some cars "do better" with the 300 or the Motylgear, what does do better mean? 2. Is the Extra MT hard to get? (I have not tried yet but a transmission fluid change is something I intend to do this year).

    Quick grammar question

This is hitting the point. What little of the sentence we have is indicating a condition contrary to fact, so "is" and "are" should not be used. However, seeing the entire paragraph would add context which might allow us to determine the point that the writer was trying to convey.

Tell us you bought more car than you can affford...

Remember the big Sears automotive newspaper ads with tires for $12.88 in large bold print? My $200 1978 Pinto bought in the 1980s is the only car I ever had that could actually use those. I was thrilled, and it fit my budget at the time. -- -- I should know better, but I am still stunned and...

2017 JKUR (Wrangler Rubicon) Locking Diff Fluids?

Time to change the diff fluids in my Jeep. Thought this would be a good place to ask. I searched and wasn't able to come up with direct info. 2017 Jeep JKUR (4-door) Rubicon. Moroney label says: Tru-Lok® Differential Front and Rear Axles Next Generation Dana® 44 Heavy Duty Rear Axle...

The truth about oil change intervals and analysis

I am very new to the site and to oil analysis, having just done one so far. My simplistic question is: Are there engine problems that do NOT show up in some way in an oil analysis, and if so, what might they be?

The truth about oil change intervals and analysis

Can you (or anyone, really) please quantify what excessive fuel dilution vs. normal is?

    Subaru Extra MT Alternatives?

It would be great to hear what you think of it, once you have a few miles on it! Redline claims that their MTL® 75W80 GL-4 Gear Oil is good for Subaru manual transmissions. I have no experience with their products.

    Subaru Extra MT Alternatives?

Just starting to research what to put into the manual transmission in my 2023 WRX. Any thoughts or updates that anyone would care to share?

    Advice needed on BMW K1200GT

Maybe I am mistaken, but isn't the starter motor mounted to the top of the motor, under the fuel tank? Pull the fuel tank and you can access the starter directly, no? (I think I was wrong) Having now watched the video, it looks like you just pull off a frame brace and the engine cover, then...

    Classic Scout is coming back

Good point. It is also too bad that they did not decide to build a real Jeep Wrangler competitor with a gasoline engine as well as the electric one. Surely, they saw the feeding frenzy when Ford re-introduced the Bronco.

    Classic Scout is coming back

The idea that VW thinks selling an electric "Scout" will somehow evoke the heritage of the original seems unlikely to me. Generally speaking, the Jeep off-roading community wants nothing to do with electric vehicles, so I expect that if this thing sells, the buyers will be urban know-nothings.
