Can a STRAIGHT threaded 2" pipe coupler be used with 2" NPT tapered pipe?

I sold electrical goods for years. Electrical conduit coupling threads are all straight. Threads on "rigid" (thickwall) and IMC (intermediate) electrical conduit are all tapered. No problem. Just tighten the coupling as much as possible on the conduit to seal the connection.

    Ever eat possum?

I guess no one caught my woody + woodpecker joke. Some species of pine nuts are believed to be toxic anyway, meaning, don't harvest the nuts from trash pines that grow like weeds in the US. The ones packaged in Italy for use in pesto are from a 1–2 species of pine tree that grow there.

    Ever eat possum?

When I worked in state corrections, a coworker brought an opossum for lunch that he had killed. The odor when he microwaved it was horrible, like microwaving garbage, which makes sense because opossums are scavengers. The smell was so bad I was literally heaving from it.

    Ever eat possum?

    Probably tasted woody.

How to get the most for junking a vehicle?

Good luck on that. In many states now, because of law changes due to cat thefts, you might get a visit from unfriendly police.

GM extends Dexcool limit to 6 years

...And in other news, GM announces the expected engine life in new vehicles using Dexcool is 150,000 miles or 6 years, whichever comes first.

    Any downside to edamame?

You don't eat the pods, but frozen edamame is sold by weight, so you pay for the pods anyway. You can get frozen edamame beans without pods, but they can be hard to find.

Is this the end of Hollywood?

AI isn't going to kill Hollywood. Hollywood is doing a fine job of that all by itself.

Anyone tasting a decline in craft beer?

I've said for a long time there's a fine line between "craft" beer and "crap" beer. I've sampled enough of the latter to avoid these small breweries. Even the better ones are under pressure to cut costs, and once that happens...

OEM Headlights upgrade to LED White Bright Headlights

Changed to LEDs (Auxito brand, has cooling fans) last year in my 2011 Ranger and made sure to re-aim the headlamps, yes, to the right a bit. The housings were 2 years old and in excellent condition, as I had replaced them right after buying the truck. Also replaced the driving-light bulbs (in...

My Home Depot Has No Gas Powered Lawn Equipment

Gasoline-powered leaf blowers are a special case, and banning them doesn't bother me too much. They make a huge, annoying racket for what they do. People use them to blow leaves around to look busy when what usually needs to be done is to pick up the leaves and get rid of them. Alternatively...

Is Home Title Insurance really necessary?

The OP is referring to "title lock" insurance, as RhondaHonda says. I think the claims of others stealing your home as those radio ads describe are mostly bogus. In most US localities today you can't just walk into the local government offices with paperwork showing a title transfer...

How many people still use paper maps?

Printed road atlases are still around at truck stops. Barnes & Noble and the few remaining other new-book sellers usually have a map section as well.

US Intelligence Shows Flawed China Missiles Led Xi to Purge Army

Sometimes Chinese products are of excellent quality, but a lot of things made there are still garbage to meet production numbers. The latter is probably what happened with those missiles. That type of regime always has a Potemkin–village problem. Or as someone else once said, "It is better to...
