The main problem is the clogged oil holes in the pistons. So, the oil can't move, and it burns.

i agree, its a nice little car. not boring in anyway and still manages to get 36 mpg even with its sporty performance.

just changed the oil on my 05 celica. 4.5 quarts of PP. man it feels good to take care of the things you love. Especially since this is the LAST TRUE sports car toyota made, since going "green".

i saw a slight increase in MPG. I averaged about 26 mpg city. I tried keeping revs below 2k rpm on cold mornings until the engine was warmed up.

im pretty sure the only reason why toyota recommends a 20 weight in most of their newer cars is for the benefit of fuel economy. id take protection ovr the minimal gain in economy anyday tho.
