    Mazda guys...

The dealership has a 2016 CX5 GT with very few miles. Are there any common issue with this year? My friend had a GT and loved it. Put 110k on it without any repairs. I thought she said there were some recalls on the 2016. Are there any concern in buying a car with so few miles that is 5 years old.

This is a first. Never heard it described as "cheap" feeling. Not sure what you drive normally, but the CX5 has consistently been rated as most luxurious of the class. Maybe it was the trim you got. 186 hp is not much.

    Can you shut off CD?

    Mazda guys...

Good to know. The dealer has a 2016 with 13000 miles. Might consider that to avoid the CD. What do you mean by "test at multiple operating points"?

Apparently the 2018s have seen some head gasket failures. Odd since its the same engine as the 2017. I personally don't care for the cylinder deactivation. Maybe the head gasket failures are related to the cylinder deactivation.

Very thorough. I was not aware of most of the items you mentioned. paint, etc. I have several friends with the CX5 and have not heard anything negative about them. No mention of rust or anything. I don't believe in lifetime fluids.

Oil dilution seems to be everywhere these days. This is for my parents who don't go on long trips. mostly 15-20 at max in town. I plan on changing the oil at 5k or less to alleviate the dilution.

    Mazda guys...

Thanks. I have never done oil spraying...living in the North East for the last 30 years and having had several cars. They were Honda, but I'm not touching the new Honda. Need to learn about Mazda differential service and transmission drain/fill procedure. If it is as easy as my Honda, it will...

Thanks guys. There are several 2018 CX-5 locally. All maintained by the dealer that sold them at 5k intervals. The one that is interesting is a touring model with about 35k on it they want $21k. Clean carfax. Would prefer a little lower mileage to take advantage of the factory warranty if...

    Mazda guys...

If you own or are familiar with Mazda, are there any specific issues with the 2018 CX-5 that I should know about before purchasing one? Looks like my parents need a car and I have read good things about Mazda over the last few years. But each model has its own problems across any given brand. So...

2019 Mazda....how are they holding up?

Late to the conversation....is oil spraying what it sounds like? Is that what dealers used to charge for under carriage coating or similar? Is rust on modern Mazdas an issue?

2021 Mazda CX5 carbon Edition w/ turbo oil

Nice car. Let us know about oil dilution. What is the break in on that engine? Would love that turbo engine....Next car is going to be a CX5.

Oil recommendations for 2008 Honda Accord V6 3.5L

Mine calls for 0w20 and I use 0w20. I have seen my consumption drop alot. I just topped off after 3k miles and was down 3/8 of a quart.

Oil recommendations for 2008 Honda Accord V6 3.5L

You guys having oil consumption issues should try Red Line oil. I went from RP to RL and it improved consumptions significantly. Mine is a 4 cylinder accord.

Those with 150,000 miles or more, check in

Freaking awesome. I aspire to have a car with that many on it. I think the Civic we have is a good candidate. Trans. fluid change every 25-30k, oil every 7500. At 227k now. Hope to see 400k. That is 8 years from now at current driving rate.
