I had my long block 6.0 powerstroke built by Kill Devil Diesel. I used motorcraft 15w40 on break in, 50 hours initial oil change and 3000 miles after. Used synthetic about after 20k as well. Have roughly 40k on it now. Been using chevron delo xle sb and xsp.

HEUI engines will shear oil out of grade. Having a 6.0 powerstroke myself, having good, clean 40w is a must. I've ran delvac extreme, I've posted a previous oil analysis. The delvac's are on the thinner side. I've since switched to delo xle sb. Hoping to get a few intervals in and run an analysis.

Seems like the only place showing any availability to buy this from is advance auto parts. Full synthetic is 32.99 a gallon, and the blend is 22.99 a gallon.

The HPOP in a 6.0 powerstroke has the ability to create oil pressure to up 4k psi. In my opinion definitely has the ability to lower viscosity. I have no issues with the oil, I would consider on using it again and have it retested with another UOA company. I feel comfortable in changing it at 3k...

Bought the truck from an auction, originally lived its life out as a state road maintenance truck. Had 9940 hours with lifter failure.

Full long block rebuild. O-ringed cylinder heads with upgraded valve springs, bored .040 over, OEM ford connecting rods, OEM lifters, all new bearings, stage one camshaft, 175/30 injectors, feeding a 66/67 turbo.

Pretty typical for the High pressure oil system to shear the oil from a 40 down to a 30. 6.0 powerstroke's are harsh on oil. I work the truck pretty hard at times, 3k OCI are my limit with these.
