I've considered Castrol, but I chose Pennzoil in my last two oil changes.

On the back of the container, it lists MB Approval 229.3, 229.5. I highly doubt that's false advertising. The oil is so new that it has not been placed on that list you posted yet, but I believe it's legitimate. I'll likely use it myself.

I'll likely order this from Walmart (for only $23.48 for 5-qt container and $5.98 for 1-qt container) and use it in my 2015 VW GTI SE. The oil meets or exceeds all manufacturers' requirements...

It meets all requirements of Mercedes Benz, BMW, VW and Porsche and costs only $23.48 at Walmart.
